A sheep painted red ... Cruel joke, right? Nope. Farmers in Ireland and Scotland have been painting sheep for ages—makes ’em easier to find. Thankfully, you won’t have any problem finding our new Irish Red Lager. Its malty backbone and rich, off-white head—some say it’s "cappuccino-like"—are unmistakable. Not to mention that big, beautiful color. Which, unlike the sheep, is 100% natural. (All due respect to the sheep.) 14°

Bottle. Buttery toffee malt and hay aroma. Amber with small head. Sweet buttery toffee malt and lightly bitter hay flavor. Nice body. Decent.

Not a bad beer, but I’m just not a fan of sweet lagers. Toffee/caramel flavor with cereal and caramel in the nose. Watery orange/red in color. Meh.

Pour from a 12 ox bottle. Reddish amber brew with thick off white head. Aroma of malts, maybe a little adjunct and a little hops. Taste is sweet malt at the start, a little chocolate (surprise) and sweetness through to the end. Very rich and satisfying. Tasty.

From notes: 12oz served in a Dogfish Head pint glass. A – Pours a slight hazed amber with a creamy off-white that forms a nice collar. S – Pale and caramel malts, rich graham cracker, weird tomato undertone, nutty lager yeast. T – A big dose of fruity malt, rich lager yeast, buttery caramel, has a tart fruity bite. Some spice bread comes through. M – Medium to full bodied, creamy feel with soft carbonation. Great aroma but a strange buttery and tart taste. It definitely mellowed out as it warmed when the malt really came out. Serving type: bottle 08-01-2012

The label is intriguing but the beer is just fine. Strong in features to be an Irish one and with the touch of Dundee.

Pours a clear copper-amber body with a small fizzy o--white head that faded to a thin film. The nose is quite sweet smelling with lots of caramel, some toasted malt, a little light coffee, and some light huskiness. The flavor is pretty sweet as well, more caramel than fits with the style, toasted malt, some cereal grain on the finish, minimal to no bitterness. Lighter bodied with a watery texture and fizzy carbonation. Another bland Irish Ale.

The color is a reddish brown that isn’t terribly rich, and the aroma smells of malts and apples. The taste is mildly sour and slightly sweet, and the palate combines a medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation, and an abrupt finish, making for just an alright beer.

Pors clear, wet copper with a solid, light tan head. Aroma of caramel malt. Taste is richly caramel....almost a chocolate hint...despite a lightness in body....creamy, malty.. Sweet,.... no fireworks, but a pretty good, easy beer..... Dundee may be a macro in disguise, but they do put out some pretty decent beers...nothing mind-bending, but usually pretty solid.

Pours a translucent amber with a medium, white head that quickly fades. Subtle, mildly floral aroma. Syrupy mouthfeel with only slight carbonation - much heavier than expected. Sweet, unbalanced taste. Meh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
