COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In Germany, Kobes(brewery waiters) have been serving Kolsch since 1906. But they’re notoriously tough to pin down, always rushing past with grilled potatoes, cabbage, sausages, sandwiches, and big round trays of their namesake brew. And while you might need to speak Germanto order a Kolsch in Koln, you don’t need any such skill to enjoy one here. Ours is light and refreshing with subtle "biscuity" notes and a clean refreshing finish. It’s also considerably less difficult to order. And thats something we can all drink too. Prost! 14°

(12oz bottle, courtesy of blutt59) Pours a clear golden body with a medium white head. Aroma of honey, grain, and grass. Flavor of honey, grain, nuts, and earth.

12 ounce bottle from a sampler purchased at a Wegman’s. Pours a clear golden with a thin white head that quickly fades. Aroma of sweet caramel and a very faint bit of toasted malts. The taste is sweet malts, grain, faintly grassy and nutty finish. Medium bodied. Meh.

maltdog (616) - Colorado, USA - FEB 15, 2011
Brassy gold, marshmallow crème head. Pleasing but completely inappropriate aromas of concord grape, bubblegum wrapper, baking spice, toasted almonds, cherry. Flavor is equal parts malt and cherry licorice, plus trace amounts of fennel and dried cranberry. Oily with crisp carbonation. Tasty, but CRAZY fruity... I would have guessed this to be a fruit beer fermented with a Belgian yeast.

Gold clear pour. Minimal head with no lacing. This beer has the same buttery sweet bread thing going on as the Pale Lager (Helles) Bock from Dundee. Is this the same beer? Seems like it is. I was expecting a much more crisp finish but I am still getting that butterscotch diacetyl aftertaste. Almost a sweet corn adjunct to the flavor? Not impressed.

Pours a pale, clear golden color with a weak and quickly fading white head. Aroma is sweet and simple. Taste is similar to aroma, with a sweet undertone and very little bitterness. Mouthfeel is average and unremarkable, perhaps dominated by carbonation. Overall, it is drinkable but highly unremarkable and uninteresting..

A clear, lightly golden pour with a white head. The biscuit aroma is subtle and mildly sweet smelling. The light body is refreshing and crisp without tasting watery. The semi-sweet taste gives way to a dry finish.

Pours gold with slight haze and thin white head. The aroma is mild with some graininess, some fruity esters and faint dirty sweaty socks. The taste is sweet, slightly grainy and then stale dark fruity esters.

Appearance: Pours out a clear, blonde body with a smallish, receding, white head. Smell: Sweetish, honey-scented nose with altogether meager notes of vaguely bready malts and alcohol-spritzed fruit. Taste: Sweet, honeyish maltiness with a hint of soft biscuit innards. Moderately fruity with a trace of candied lemon. Not a bite of spicy-minded hops as it is a halfhearted tickle. Very, very low bitterness felt. Finishes a bit sweet, with a hint of malted wheat, and a slight heftiness weighing on the tongue. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation. Slight mouth-coating slickness present. Drinkability: As a Kölsch, it’s neither particularly authentic nor particularly good, but it is easily drinkable. So, it’s essentially on-par with the rest of their offerings. As
