COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Originally brewed using the Yorkshire square system of fermentation, the nut brown ale calls the North of England home. A hint of hazelnut, a dash of rich caramel and a sprinkle of chocolate malt all intertwine with the flowery bouquet of Willamette hops to produce a round-bodied ale worthy of its homeland. Take a leaf out of our buddy Cyril the red squirrel’s book, and enjoy a Dundee Nut Brown Ale in your own drey. (Drey = a squirrel’s nest. See, you learned something too.)

This beer is an auburn color with a prominent white head, and the aroma is nutty with a hint of caramel alongside the yeast undertones. The taste is mildly umami and mildly sweet, and the palate of the beer combines a light-medium body, a thin texture, soft carbonation, and an abrupt finish.

Mildly intriguing aroma and a thin brown pour leads to a mild taste and basic mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep brown with a thick beige head. Fizzy. Aroma is similar to other brown ales, bit of caramel malt and a touch of hops. Light bodied and smooth. A bit of hazelnut. Not bad, but not much here to recommend.

Poured into one of my Newcastle Geordie Schooner glasses. Mahogany brown color with a generoud tan head. Aroma is hazelnut and some earthy malt. Flavor is a bit one dimensional, but nutty with a nice level of hazelnut character. Many hazelnut browns seem to overwhelm with the hazelnut flavor, but this strikes a nice balance. Fairly smooth mouthfeel with a slightly dry finish. I rarely see any Dundee beer in my area, so I probably won’t be drinking it again, but its a decent run-of-the-mill brown.

A brown ale with an off white head. The beer tastes like a brazilian nut coffee with just a hint of hazelnut perhaps in the background. Finishes clean

Pours a very clear very light brown with about a finger of head. Oats and toffee in the odor. Tastes different than I’d expect from the nose. Very watery with a little bit of bitterness that goes into a slightly almost skunky aftertaste. It’s not bad for how cheap it is, but not worth recommending.

Bottle. One of the bottles from their Seasonal variety pack (though I don’t believe this one in particular is seasonal for them, but couldn’t say for sure). Has a nutty, caramel aroma - not too strong. Taste is similar with some chocolate in there as well. Slightly hoppy finish. Pretty mellow taste, definitely a decent beer. Dundee always has solid beers for a low price, gotta respect em for that! 5.3% alcohol.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear super dark amber with a medium tan head. Nose of toffee, malt, some hops. Decent mouthfeel, flavors of brown sugar and hops. Overall, not too bad.

Pours a dark brown color. Smell is a bit malty. Taste is malts, some nuts, a touch of hops. Overall a pretty good beer.

The appearance had a medium dark brown body with a somewhat off-white frothy head with some slight lacing that slides down the glass as it goes. The smell has a sweet nutty malt with some caramel, subdued in a weird sort. The taste has a slight coffee bitterness followed by some light maltiness. The palate is light and has a fair amount of carbonation in the body. Overall, this is just a decent beer that I would have again, but would rather have it on tap if offered.
