3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ChainGangGuy (4116) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - FEB 5, 2012
Appearance: Pours out a clear, dark garnet-hued body with a sensibly sized, ivory-hued head.
Smell: Sweetish, malty notes of semi-sweet chocolate, pale malts, toasted caramel, and the addition of hazelnut over a thin dried herb backdrop.
Taste: Pale malts, chocolaty malts, and caramel-tasting malts melding together, along with the dash of hazelnut flavoring, to give an overall nutty taste, as one might expect and rightfully demand given a cheeky squirrel on the front label. Lightly spicy, faintly floral hops with a low bitterness. Sweetish, still reasonably nutty on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Fairly smooth mouthfeel.
Overall: A pleasing nut brown ale; simple, but solidly structured. While it’s not quite a Rogue Hazelnut Nectar, the entire Dundee 12-pack mixer cost me only a few quarters more than a six-pack of Rogue’s.

This Nut Brown by Dundee is definitely what I would call delicious. Has a nice full flavor, and good for any cold evening.

Smells much like chocolate and hops. Beautiful dark brown in color. Same color as rootbeer. Hence the caramel. Has a great flavor with no bitter aftertaste. Fairly mild and not overpowering. Doesnt maintain a head for long. Overall, I really did like it. But I favor brown ales.

This beer is an auburn color with a prominent white head, and the aroma is nutty with a hint of caramel alongside the yeast undertones. The taste is mildly umami and mildly sweet, and the palate of the beer combines a light-medium body, a thin texture, soft carbonation, and an abrupt finish.

Dundee Nut Brown Ale is a very clear, very sparkling brown ale with a dense, waxy, off white head that has great retention and lacing. It smells nutty, malty, a little sweet and metallic. It’s light bodied and quite lively. The finish is pretty clean. The flavor is pretty well balanced. It’s nutty with an herbal bitterness. There are notes of chocolate, metal and something Irish. It’s really easy drinking. The metal flavor is a little distracting, but there’s enough flavor to keep some interest. I could go through a few of these.

Pours a dark amber with a slowly diminishing head. Aroma dominated by malts as expected. Very smooth and flavorful. The hazelnut really comes through in the flavor. A nice fall ale.

12 oz. bottle. Nice brown color with a medium, tan, rocky head and lots of lacing. Big peanut and caramel notes, with some light chocolate and chili notes. Nice savory and sweet flavors, with very light bitterness. Light to medium body, syrupy, and slick. Overall, this is a simple, but tasty beer.

Bottle (trade with Patrickctenchi for a Dark Lord - oh, he gave me 2 KBS too).
Chocolate and cola malt aroma. Chestnut brown with small head. Slightly sweet chocolate toffee malt and lightly bitter herbal hops. Not bad.
