COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Originally brewed using the Yorkshire square system of fermentation, the nut brown ale calls the North of England home. A hint of hazelnut, a dash of rich caramel and a sprinkle of chocolate malt all intertwine with the flowery bouquet of Willamette hops to produce a round-bodied ale worthy of its homeland. Take a leaf out of our buddy Cyril the red squirrel’s book, and enjoy a Dundee Nut Brown Ale in your own drey. (Drey = a squirrel’s nest. See, you learned something too.)

7/8/12. 12oz bottle. Light chocolate and caramel in the aroma. Some dusty nutty notes in the flavor with mild chocolate and caramel. Eh.

Bottled, as a part of a fall sampler pack. Moderately dark brown in color with a slight orange tint. Large, light-tan head is mostly lasting. Moderately malty nose with lightly toasty hazelnut with some slightly sour bready/yeastiness. Flavor is very mildly sweet, mildly-to-moderately sour and heavy on wheat bread and some copper metallics. Stale bread finish is slightly sour and mildly bitter. As an aside, we used a bottle of this to make Beer-Pretzel Caramels (from Food Network magazine, Google it) that turned out very tasty.

Pours mahogany with a thin nut colored head that didn’t stick around long. Smells a bit of roasted malt, but the aroma is a bit shallow and pedantic. Taste is of roasted malt, caramel and alcohol. Not bad, but not very impressive either.

Alright, I purchased this one as part of the Dundee Summer Sampler box at the Ferguson Road Kroger - Alright, I emptied my twelve ounce bottle into a clean, clear glass and was impressed by its malty/bready aroma and dark trandparent hue. Tastewise, this one has roasted nalt, caramelike flavor, but is a bit watery on its finish. Still, it would be a fine everyday beer for those who like the nut brown style.

12oz bottle, from my local Kroger. Clear brown / red color. pours with a 1-finger off-white head. Kinda bubbly, but leaves good spray of lace. Stronger, pronounced carbonation, though smooth overall. No stickiness in the finish. Sweet taste overall, light bitter in the finish. Nutty, toasty flavor. Caramel malts, little chocolate. Very faint hops. Mostly just kind of a plain, watered down, lightly dusty flavor... Not a terrible brown ale, but not really interesting.

Dark brown color, off white head. Malt, toast, earth, chocolate, metallic aroma. Flavor is the same. The metallic seems to stand out in an unpleasant way

Pour is a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is malty and a little bit of roasted nuts. Flavor is the same starts out with some malts then comes a bit of roasted nuts. Like most of this brewers beers its kinda watery but cheap.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a medium beige head. Aroma is malty and roasty. Flavor is the same but with a hint of nuttiness. As usual for Dundee, watery but cheap and decent.
