COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For thousands of years, fall has been a time of plenty ~ plenty of food and plenty of good brew, carefully crafted in anticipation of one heck of a party. If summer is exercise, bikini diets, and baking in the sun; fall is recliner Sundays, cheese in a can, and basking in the glow of a robust, flavorful brew like Dundee Oktoberfest. So in the fall, be full-bodied. After all, as much as we love bikinis, there is a lot to be said for cheerleader sweaters. 15°

Medium amber color. Medium carbonation and a soft mouthfeel. Caramel notes cut with a slightly tart/bitter finish. Pleasantly balanced, in a malty kind of way. Hint of vanilla?

This pours a very nice redish brown with a minimal head. The beer is very fizzy and tastes mostly of malts.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2012 12 oz bottle pours a dark amber with a off-white head. Aroma - Sweet toffee malt with a hint of iron metal and fruit. It has a good malt flavor with a slightly sweet finish which I enjoyed.

Bottle purchased at Consumer’s Beverages Niagara Falls. Pours a reddish brown with a white head. Islands of lacing here and there. Wouldn’t say I’m getting much in the scent department. Taste is light, sweet. There’s a little grain in there. Tiny bit bitter on the finish.

Bottle:   Translucent amber, slight copper tinge, large frothy head, spotty lacing, lively carbonation.   Looks somewhat similar to the Leinenkugels Oktoberfest I had just before this.   Soft malty nose, very faint hay/straw and even some caramel.   Somewhat of a dusty malty start, very soft sweetness.   Backside is a little sticky, somewhat hangs out on the tongue.   Nothing off about this one, just light and perhaps a bit aged in his nose and on the tongue (the musty/dusty part).   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Yeah, just a pale malty beer with some flavor that is just enough to make it interesting, but not enough to make it memorable.

It poured a clear orange color with a small beige head. The aroma was of toasty malt and caramel. The flavor was mostly caramel with a hint of hops.

THOUGHTS: Slightly better than I was expecting. Nice, malty beer, but not very complex. A little thin in the body and slightly cloying by the end. The aroma was a little artificial and overly sweet. It needs more balance. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured clear, dark, brownish red that sort of looked like root or birch beer with an average to large, creamy, off-white head that kept a nice sheet and left good lacing. The aroma had light to moderate dark bread, toasted bread and caramel; and hints of vanilla and cola. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and ever so slightly sour; while the finish was moderate to heavily sweet, slightly sour and slightly bitter with a short to average duration. There was caramel, molasses, some grain, slight brown sugar, cookie, slight vanilla, a little apple, slight grassy hops, slight metallic hops and dark bread. The light to medium body was like watery syrup with fizzy carbonation and a slightly metallic finish.

12oz bottle from Pick’s poured into a shaker. Pours a clear nut brown with a small bit of white head. Aroma of caramel malt. Taste is lightly bitter. Taste of caramel and some roasted nuts. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long bitter finish. Overall, pretty good. I would drink this again.
