COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For thousands of years, fall has been a time of plenty ~ plenty of food and plenty of good brew, carefully crafted in anticipation of one heck of a party. If summer is exercise, bikini diets, and baking in the sun; fall is recliner Sundays, cheese in a can, and basking in the glow of a robust, flavorful brew like Dundee Oktoberfest. So in the fall, be full-bodied. After all, as much as we love bikinis, there is a lot to be said for cheerleader sweaters. 15°

Dark roasted malt and yeast flavor. Brownish amber color with a thin tan head. A little bit of a metallic aftertaste. Better than the average mass produced beer but I wouldn’t select this one again unless it was the only choice against less desirable beers.

’Sallright. Poured with a nice sized, foamy, frothy, cream colored head that settled down to a few islands quickly and no lace. Color is a lovely, clear cherry, copper amber. Aroma is malt, toffee, caramel, a bit of fruit and roast. Flavor is less interesting than nose, the same stuff, just less intense or interesting. Body is ok and carbonation is a touch fizzy. Finish is like flavor and on the short side.

Video review at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnR6iDNZaGY

Appearance: Deep hazelnut + red transparencies, 2-finger head dissipates to layering, great lacing

Smell: Sweet + carmel malt, biscuit, minimal hop aroma

Taste: Toffee, sweet carmel malts, buttery biscuit, hazelnut, tiny bit of clean hop citrus, medium carbonation keeps this brew crisp

Pairings: Sauerkraut, bratwurst, spicy mustard

From a bottle poured a brown color with a good amount of head. Light malty flavor with a quick finish.

A malty brown gravy like toasted barley flavor looms over a sweetish butterscotch flavored brew with lightly citrus and peppery hop profile mostly in the foam. An ale like rummy and port fruity booze character permeates throughout the tasting and it is grainy in the body. deep brown hued ale with burnt orange hue. it occupies a space and is somewhat what it should be.

A tasty Oktoberfest brew. Good mix between malts/hops. Maybe one dimensional, but overall not bad.

people give Dundee a lot of crap and subpar ratings, but i find their beers to be pretty solid, albeit not very imaginative. i actually prefer this to most of the german oktoberfests, as its stronger and more flavorful. aroma is like pumpernickel bread, flavor is nutty and doughy with some caramel and toast notes. really, a nice solid brown ale.
