2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 johnnyoski (291) - Macomb, USA - FEB 9, 2009
12oz bottle: Pours light amber color with a small white head. Faint aroma of sweet malt and honey. Tasted like a typical macro lager with a slight honey finish. Left an unpleasant lingering aftertaste. Light, watery body with soft to flat carbonation. Not as good as I remembered back in the college days.
2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Patrickctenchi (386) - columbus, Indiana, USA - MAY 16, 2012
Dark gold with large off white head that vanishes quickly.
Nose is slightly skunky....sweet malt.
Taste is slightly honey tones, a bit of nut.
It’s smooth, easy....decent...just pretty bland...fairly watery.
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 2, 2012
Sept 2006: from BA. Part of a Craft Beer of America pack, bought in the UK.
This was by far the worst beer in the JW Dundee’s selection I have had. Poured into a Berliner Kindl straight glass, it looked sad, light brown and sickly.
The smell was of off honey.
It was a mish-mash of half flavours and nothingness, very disappointing, I just couldn’t find a good point.
I do not know what the brewer is trying to do here, whatever it is, he has failed to impress me.
2.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 gregwilsonstl (237) - USA - APR 29, 2012
Very clear brown. One of the more translucent brown beers I have rated. Strong honey aroma. Very thin head. Faint fig taste. Overly sweet, but not malty, not as nutty as I would expect either. Very drinkable but boring.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ronaldtheriot (448) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - APR 25, 2012
Honey Brown Lager has a fairly thin, off-white head and a clear, bubbly, honey-colored appearance, with some narrow lacing. It has a mild, sweet, malty aroma. The taste is of sweet bread, a bit o’ honey, and a touch of bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Honey Brown Lager finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and dry. Overall, it’s a good beer, and it was much better than I expected it to be. RJT
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Onenote81 (902) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 24, 2012
Originally reviewed: 8/12/08. Poured this into a conical pint and noticed a golden color with a brownish tint. There was a large head at first but this quickly disappeared within about 30 seconds. Very thin sheet on top with no lacing whatsoever.
Smells very sweet like honey, with some bread and butter scents also pulling through.
Very mellow and smooth drink. I’m not getting any bitterness out of this one. Definitely finding the honey overtones, but also some citrus and light malt. Very watery and thin, but refreshing nonetheless.
A good beer to go to when thirsty after mowing the lawn or something. But if you’re looking for something complex with an attitude, pass on this one.

Very mild, but not particularly weak or watery. Just kinda flat, kinda nothing special.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear, very dark gold with minimal head. Aroma of wheat and malt. Taste is light sweet. Wheat and honey. Light bodied with a thin texture. Fizzy carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, it’s ok, but not that good. Probably a good intro to craft, but not much else.
1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Rotbart (65) - - MAR 10, 2012
Faint malt aroma with a thin, quickly disappearing head. Light bitter taste with a thin finish with barely a hint of honey. NOt a beer worth repeating.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 tone77 (162) - Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 26, 2012
Has a light brown color. Smell is of honey and malts. Taste is crisp, refreshing, slightly sweet, a bit of malts. Overall probably my favorite low cost beer.
