A wonderfully balanced true pale ale. Cascade, Tomahawk, and Amarillo hops create a citrusy aroma with a smooth, crisp finish. A subdued malt character nicely complements the hop complexity and produces an orangey amber hue.

Pours a clear golden orange from the bottle with thin white head and moderate lacing, lots of carbonation. Aroma is of pale and bready malts, with a hint of hops underneath. Flavor cuts the hops and its mostly just malty. To me this is much more of an english style pale ale than an american, but they already have an english that is even worse.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 3/3/2015. Pours slightly hazy orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, caramel, honey, toasted bread, and light floral earthiness. Pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus hops and dark/bready malt notes; with fairly weak strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, caramel, honey, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange zest, pine, caramel, honey, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance, complexity, and robustness of citrus/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and fairly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5.3%. Overall this is a very solid pale ale style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A pleasantly enjoyable offering.

Balanced brew but flavor and aroma are both a bit suppressed. Slightly weak as if adapted for mass consumption.

"not bad, but i’m not a huge fan either. this kinda leans towards the english style even though no labeled as such. firm, malty backbone with only a moderate bitterness and low level floral and citrus notes."

Transfer from BA review on 3-22-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a medium amber color with some nice orange highlights shining throughout. Upon pouring there is a one finger white head that has a good level of retention, fading over about 5 min to leave only a very light level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell- The aroma is heavies t of a musty malty smell mixed with some notes of a light corn and some caramel, Overall the aroma is sorta stale in nature and not the most pleasant. Taste – The taste begins with a malty and bready flavor with a hint of caramel and honey sweetness. A hop flavor begins developing later in the taste. The hop is a mix of a light grapefruit citrus and a moderate amount of an earthy taste. Later more bitterness comes to the tongue leaving, a rather off bitter flavor on the tongue. In the end, the mix of flavors leaves a rather unpleasant taste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the slightly thinner side with a carbonation level that is average. For the style it is fitting, but overall it is rather average. Overall – This is not one of Dundee’s best. The flavor that lingers on the tongue is quite off with the aroma being rather non-appetizing as well. While most of Dundee beers I think are a good value, this one I do not believe is. Skip it.

It pours with a thin foamy off white head that fades to just a small ring around the edge of the glass. The color of the beer itself is a bright golden color with great clarity. The aroma has just a light aromatic and citrus hops nose. It starts off with sweet bready malts and light grain up front that turns to a thin herbal and leafy hops flavor with a touch of citrus in the middle. The finish is mildly bitter and fades out nicely. On the palate it has a smooth yet thin texture with mild carbonation and a light to medium body.

More reviews, I’ll keep ’em coming as long as I can. Here goes. Into a pint glass, this appearance was an amber Color with a one finger of head, decent lacing. The smell had a mild caramel malt with a faint orange and medicinal qualities running amuk on this one. The taste was mainly sweet adding in that "English" aspect not so much enjoyed by many Americans (fuggles hops perhaps). On the palate, it sat fairly light but almost leading towards a medium on the body. The sessionability of this one is there as I could see this one being fairly decent with some fish n’ chips. Overall, it seems like an English Pale Ale to me which isn’t bad. I understand this style but often think these beers are often good with some fish n’ chips.

From a bottle. Pours clear amber with a thin off white head. Tastes bitter, hoppy, bready, with a hint of raisin. Dry feel. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells toasted, like cereal, toffee, nuts, floral hops, plums, and figs.

This beer is so malty, and not in a good way. Hops are in there, but not tasty and not what at all what I want in a pale ale.

Bottle. Aroma is hoppy with a bit of citrus. Pours light amber/golden colored with medium white head. Taste is slightly more hoppy than I would consider a pale and finishes dry and hoppy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
