Pale Bock? Dundee, are you even trying to sound impressive? The name of this brew made me think of a bad lager. And that’s exactly what this brew looked, smelled, and tasted like. No head, watery body, and malt profile that lacks complexity and, well, flavor. I honestly can’t think of anything complimentary to say about this brew.

Bottle. A- Malty, biscuits, slightly sweet. A- Golden orange color, clear liquid, no head. T- Malty, caramel, biscuits, bready, cereal. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish. O- I’m not sure what Dundee does but I’m pretty sure they bottle one beer under several different labels. The IPA, Kolsch, and this all look the exact same and don’t differ much in taste either. Just a very boring and not so good beer.

Bottle from a sampler. Pours a transparent amber with a thick layer of off white head. Aroma of malts and tea. Taste of bread malts and caramel.

It has a nice golden amber color with good clarity. The head is white in color, big, and fluffy. It quickly fades to just a thin covering of bubbles. As I drink a small amount of lace is left behind on the glass. It has a simple clean aroma of sweet bready malts. There is a light caramel sweetness to the malt with a thin earthy hop flavor throughout. It finishes cleanly with some mild hop bitterness. The body is light to medium with just enough carbonation for balance. Over all I would say that it is an average beer that is easy to drink with a simple clean flavor.

Picked out from the Seasonal Variety Pack. To undersized snifter, it pours a bright urine yellow with which a snowy white head 2 fingers in length stood. Foamy. Tastes and smells of tortilla chips, corn, mildew, ale yeast and breakfast tea. Meh, whatevs...

Reviewed from notes. This was always poured into a pilsener whenever I had it. The appearance was a golden amber color that showed a decent transparency about it and allowing some carbonation to be seen rising. The head was about a finger’s thick and was white. Once that died, there was some light foamy lacing. The smell was a malty sweet caramel breadiness. The taste was sweet allowing the caramel breadiness to give off a slight toasty sort of effect. On the palate, it sat at/about a light to medium on the body allowing a decent sessionability running about it. The carbonation seemed fairly smooth. Overall, I say this was a pretty good beer, but my lack of reviews for Maibocks says this was good for me.

gift from my beer buddy cheap. I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised by this brew. Golden pour, yellow, creamy white head. Taste was a malty, sweet caramel, still a little thin feel to it, but not bad. of course it was after work and I really needed a brew.

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2014 Pours dark gold with white head. Sweet, slightly spicy scent with light malt aroma. Taste okay with mild malt pronunciation. Nothing special.

Bottle; poured a clear dull gold with an off white head. Aroma of corn, cornbread, sweet malt, and a touch of grass. Fairly soft on the palate with a decent sweetness. Corn and a touch of earth/grass. Decent for the style.
