Pours a dark gold color with a respectable rocky white head. Sweet malt aroma along with hop spiciness. Dry crisp taste, yet sweet malt, caramel, and citrus come through as well. Some bitterness in the throat after the swallow that isn’t the best.

12oz bottle from a multi-pack. Amber body with a thin off-white head. Smell is feint, but hints at malty sweetness. Tastes malty sweet with hints of grain bitterness toward the finish. Lighter-bodied making this a pretty drinkable beer. Not overly complex or wow-ing, but a solid drinkable beer, and one of their better offerings IMO.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2007 Rich honey colored pour with a little bit of white head. Smell was similar to a hefeweisen actually. Taste was a bit malty, a touch tart, light and watery with an almost hef spiced aftertaste and sort of a dull, tart apple juice flavor. Maybe it was a bit past its prime. It pretty much sucked I thought.

Poured a medium golden color with a white fluffy head. Aroma is malty sweet with grain. Taste is sweet with a little hop. A lighter bodied beer and a decent beer for JW Dundee. Something a little different.

Yes, has a sweet volatile aroma. Slightly darker than the ubiquitous pale yellow american lager. Has a light orange tinge. Smells like candy and tastes like candy at first. Taste is not bitter but certainly has some sort of malt bite. Initially the bitterness is interesting going from mild to medium coarse after a few sips. Cannot keep up with Victory St. Boisterous Hellerbock as far as enjoyability goes. Certainly can taste the 6%. Could use a little more sweetness. Good creamy carbonation. Overall on par with Flying Dog Heller, Hofbräu München Maibock and Rogue Dead Guy. Finish is a medium lingering industrial sides of tongue bitterness.

Pours a burnt-orange. Head looks real nice though. I detect some bready malts, alcohol, and a whiff of hops. Very odd taste. Very...odd... but tolerable. After a few other beers, this one might taste better, but I feel like I’m licking the bottom of a dirty shoe. That was found in a manure field. With cows. Eh.

very bland. Color is god awful. Aroma is just not that. And the taste is slightly sweet with a rancidly sour aftertaste. It is slightly higher in alcohol but that’s not enough to pull this beer out of a bad rating

Not much to this one, but not bad either. Pours to a pale reddish-orange, with medium off-white head that lingered a hile then dissipated to okay lacing. Aroma was slightly on the malty sweet side, but really couldn’t detect much. Mouthfeel was slightly tingly, and the flavor was an okay blend of dark fruits and malty sweetness. This all led to a finish that was slightly sweet and chewy, though the alcohol never did make itself known. A pretty decent session beer, and one of the better from JW Dundee, though that dosen’t take much.

Bottle from variety pack. Amber color with small white head. Aroma was weak. Flavor had light hops and malt. Strange overall
