12oz bottle. Clear light copper with a light biege head. Grainy, some malt, bit sweet and roasted, moderate to high carbonation, light body, little dry, some stale caramel on the finish (like dried out caramel cubes).

Part of their 2013 spring/summer Variety 12-pack purchased in Syracuse, NY. Pours a clean golden colour with a frothy, slightly creamy white head, average retention and lots of dirty lace. Sweet malty nose with some alcohol. Very sweet tasting malt grain that leaves a cereal aftertaste. Reminds me of the sweetness of some malt liquors. Thankfully, some hop comes balancing things with some grassy notes in the end. Still, not my thing.

Really enjoyed this beer. Very surprised by its malty, sweet goodness and distinct "bock" flavor. Reminded me of some of the better dopple bocks ive had. Definitely worth a try.

Bottle: pours a light yellow color. Aroma is sweet bread. The taste is no surprise based on that... Sweet, slight citrus... But way to sweet for me. Boo.

The aroma is subtle with hints of yeast coming through until a sweet note arises at the end of the sniff; also, the appearance is a golden color with a small white head. The taste is slightly sweet and slightly sour, and the palate combines a medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation, and an abrupt finish.

12oz bottle. Pours a nice golden honey color, with a moderate head that fades quickly to some lacing. Aroma of mild malts with a trace of sweetness & citrus. Taste is also of mild malts with a caramel sweetness & citrus.

Thank goodness this was free. I'm not going to finish this one since I have an entire refrigerator food of good stuff. Aroma of pale malts. The taste is metallic. Not my favorite beer style either so that doesn't help. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, pour little head/lacing. Pale bock lager??? Caramel color (not dark) sweet sweet beer with a hint of hops. By a hint I mean this beer might have sat next to san ipa in the fridge... it promises big and malty on the bottle, but all I get is malt. Too sweet for me. Make it your girlfriends first beer...

I get sick of the people who write in and criticize any Saranac or Dundee beers. Two NY Brewers that have made good brews for years. Just about everything they make is Very Good , Easily drinkable product that is reasonably priced. Could they take more chances with what they are making? Of Course, but is what we are drinking from them worthy of the criticizm? I hardly think so. Are all of you that sophisticated? I HARDLY THINK SO.
