Bottle. Light amber bleeding to faint orange. Aromas of candied orange peel and raspberry. Medium-rich palate. Mild berryfruit finish with okay bitterness and a candy aftertaste. Surprisingly quaffable.

Pours clear, dark gold with a good cream coloured head. Scent is sweet malt, honey. Taste is sweet, almost sticky...fairly rich, bready malt and caramel. Very tasty.....mild....

Bottled. Poured clear, bright golden with a short-lived white head. The aroma picked up dank, kinda skunky malts paired with honey sweet corn.. I guess there were some herbal hops in there, but the malt bill threw me off. The flavor found more adjuncty corn than anything else, with honey and lesser vanilla too.. some nice husky and herbal hops around.. finished sticky-sweet with some dry residual bitterness and peppery warmth. Light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation on the palate.. lightly-toasty, and very sweet.. this got better from the initial impression, but it still wasn’t very good.

Clear pale light gold or pale copper with short head disapating to a thin froth. Malty aroma with spices like corriander or clove something of a spice maybe nutmeg even almost,sweetness/butter/butterscotch. Pretty nice solid malty taste with some carmel butterscotch some clove, pretty smooth with a nice hop-general malty taste some apple and slight citrus, clean mildly sweet finish.Nothing i would turn down,i also would not run out and get a sixer of it too quick if in fact they have them because all ive seen of Dundee is just sampler packs usually in 12’s.

Originally reviewed: 2/1/10. Bottle poured into a pint glass. Poured a slightly rusted gold with a inch’s worth of eggshell-white head. Retained fairly well; left little lace. Scents of honey, biscuits, grits, and a touch of floral hops. The body was crisp and sharp. Carbonation level was a bit high. Nice mellow bready flavors in this. Some mild bitterness; finished sweet and oh-so malty. This was a surprise. Probably my favorite Dundee beer to-date.

Well, they weren’t lying, it’s pale for a bock - slightly hazy, dark gold with no head to speak of. High carbonation, medium-bodied. Not real rich, but there’s a decent amount of caramel maltiness and a touch of bitterness provides a nice balance. A good starting point for people who are new to bocks.

Bottle. Sample pack I bought a few months ago. Pours a dyhydrated piss color with a little head, some lacing and what looks like a great amount of carbonation. Nose is a bit like wet hay, but in a cheap beer way... I don’t mean this to be a bad thing! Not much hop in the aroma. This beer is a little heavy on the fizz and tastes a little like a sweet cereal grain... grape nuts covered in sugar while watching Captain Kangaroo wrapped in a blanket... damn I miss that blonde freak and his red suit. It is not a heavy beer, not much like any bock that I’ve ever had, but I’m not even sure what a bock lager is. I guess this would be a Maibock. I like it. It won’t knock your socks off, but it is a decent brew.

pours a darker shade of gold with little head. Smells of sweet malts with maybe some diactyle. Nice clean malty flavor. Biscuity, pale malts throughout, only a touch of bitterness in aftertaste. Crisp and refreshing, not too much complexity in flavor. Pretty high in carbonation. Sample of caramel as it warms.

Twelve ounce bottle fromo Dundee variety 12 pack purchased at One Stop Liquors in Bellevue, Kentucky and tasted on January 21, 2011. Cloudy gold/amber hue, slighty off white head, not much aroma--some soapiness is present, intial watery mouthfeel gives way to malt flavor that could have been more pronounced. Although this beer appears to be available year round, it is worth it to wait for bock’s usual late winter/spring season to obtain better examples of the style.
