COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Legend has it in 1840, a monk smuggled lager yeast into Bohemia, setting the stage for the first pilsner; even now the tradation continues. We brew this pilsner with the noblest of saaz and to this we add premium German pilsner malt. This rich crisp taste has a finish so smooth that it deserves an encore, PROST!!

Pours a crystal clear straw color. Smell is faint but pleasant with grass and floral notes. The taste is consistent with the style but a but weak. like the smell, there is a grass and floral with a crisp hop bite. Finishes clean. Nothing stellar about it, but it’s a nice summer brew.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pilsner glass. The appearance was a decent light clear yellow color with fast rising carbonation filling a one finger white foamy head. There is some lacing but generally, it slides and doesn’t stick. The smell had some light Pilsner malts with a nice crisp sweetness about it. The taste was slightly sweet but crisp. The palate, it sat pretty light and showed a great deal of sessionability about it. The carbonation was fairly sharp but not overly done. Overall, not a bad pilsener. I’d probably have it again, but probably not seek it out either.

Pours light yellow. Fairly carbonated. Grassy. Slightly sweet. Also had some tartness to it. Decent beer.

Light clear gold with lively carbonation. Grassy aroma with some bread. light spritzy mouth feel with some noticeable hop bitterness to match the style. Clean refreshing finish. Not bad.

EtTuCthulhu (1007) - Columbia, Missouri, USA - FEB 9, 2014
The beer is a clear light yellow color with a large white head, and the aroma blends lager yeast and dough malts. The taste is mildly sour and a touch sweet, and the palate fuses a bready yet sour finish, medium body, lively carbonation, and a slick texture. It’s a fairly typical American beer that isn’t completely repulsive; it is actually drinkable.

Bottle. Clear light yellow pour with a fluffy white head. Grain and pale malts, crisp but very light, and a touch of hop bite late. Meh.

Pours a pale gold with a big fluffy white head. Some faint bread and grassy hops in the aroma, but not as much as I hoped for. Taste is bland malts and almost no hop bitterness. This would make a world-class pale lager, but is a poor excuse for a pilsner. Refreshing and easy to drink, but completely forgettable.

Westmeister (1699) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - NOV 29, 2013
From the good ol sampler pack. Completely clear golden with medium small white head. Sweet grass and hay with hints of caramel and a touch of the pils hops one would hope for in a pils. Taste is like a premium nondescript lager. Not much pils taste here. Sweet, slightly grassy, touch of herbal, barely a hint of hops. Meh.

otakuden (1783) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - NOV 23, 2013
Appearance: Light straw under a decent fluffy white head which fades with lots of lace before settling into a mostly full bubbly layer.
Nose: Straw, bread crust, crackers, and slightly dry already cut grass.
Palate: Medium-light weight slowly opens up to reveal a soft bready mouthfeel, bitter lemon rind, and dry grains.
Final Thoughts: A pale shadow of the greatness that a really good pilsner can be from Dundee Brewing. Forgettable.
