3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Description on the bottle identifies this beer as a Porter, Ale and Malt Liquor with 6.5% ABV. Aroma of molasses, coffee, and roast malts. Imperial-ish Pennsylvania style (think Yuengling) Porter with middle of the road porter qualities. I liked JW Dundees Porter, its a drinkabke porter with a notched up alcohol level.

A straight average porter, almost right down the center. slightly roasted, coffee bitter and maltness presence. for a casual drink

Almost a good porter, but the flavor is too weak and the finish is watery. No hop flavor or aroma. Typical roasted malt taste. Easy to drink and light bodied for a porter.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Good Porter overall, full of coffe flavor, roasted nuts and dark malts. But the head disappears way to fast and like other JW beers, instead of the bold bitter taste of hops I’m left with a watery finish instead of strong flavor. Still Tasty but could be so much more.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
aroma of malt and....beer. but that’s about it. flavor is milk chocolate and mild coffee with a strange acidic component most likely from the high carbonation. slightly bitter finish to this light bodied yet creamy brew. surprisingly good drinkability and they go down quick!

Bottle in a mixed box from Majestic, 01-06-07. Pours dark brown with a tan head, some coffee and roasted notes, smoother creamier taste than expected but still with a pleasant bitterness and coffee flavours ringing through.

black with a large creamy brown head. has that cheap grainy with mild roast, maple, macro porter aroma. flavor has lots of coffee notes and sweet milky chocolate. a big surprise! nice and creamy. i agree with mr. suds. flavor scores big points but aroma suffers.

This is not a bad beer at all...even considering that it comes from ole jw dundee’s selections... Pours with a nice sized light brown head...lacing is actually quite predominant...smell needs a lot of work...taste is nice and roasty.. MUCH better than one would think, and i have been off porters for a while, good stuff.. jw’s has been doing me over lately...

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Received via trade. Aroma was lactic, a bit sour, roasty, chocolatey and fruity somehow. Appearance is a deep brown color, off-white head. Flavor is roasty, caramel, molasses and some toffee with a slight sourness. Nothing horrible, but nothing special either.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2009 12oz bottle-Dark brown body with a nice tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and a slight aroma of coffee. Taste of roasted malt, coffee, and a little chocolate for this light to medium bodied brew. I was expecting something less and was suprised at this brew.
