One of the better cheap porters I’ve had in recent times, roasty but sweet, a relatively unoffensive but tasty porter.

Pretty average and not that good for a porter, lacking in balls or something. Certainly drinkable though

Poured from a 12 oz brown bottle with no freshness date into my Sam Adams sensory glass. Poured a nice tan head with nice lacing. Color is a deep copper brown. Smell is pretty decent, like a normal porter. A strong scent of carmel is there. Now the taste: I think this beer is way to bitter and sweet. I really didn’t like the mouthfeel and I could taste the alcohol a little too much for it only being 6.5%. Well, it was part of the mix pack, so it wasn’t a bad deal at the price, but no something I would go and buy a six pack of on a regular basis. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-08-2008 02:48:57
