Dundees best. Very drinkable and goes good with a nice block of aged cheddar. Very malty and smoky.

This porter had a nice dark pour with a slight head. It’s aroma was fruity with strong roasted malt accents. The taste was a rich roasted malt as one would expect from a porter, yet it lacked the complexity of some other porters I have had recently. It seemed a bit light on the palate, but it was very drinkable. One thing I have to remember is that this beer cost less than a dollar a bottle. Maybe there needs to be a value scale as well. If there was this beer would knock the top out.

poured a dark coca-cola color with a dark tan head. smelled like most other dark lagers / porters. Thick roasted, almost coffee like taste.

Pours really dark, thin head that disappears quick. No lacing. Smell is malty and kinda burned. Taste is also malty. Mouthfeel is crisp and dry. Good porter.

Bottle. Got this in Bradford, PA in the variety pack. Pours a dark ruby red when heId up to the Iight. thick tan/cream head that sticks around until the bottom. I taste roasted malt and a touch of burnt coffee. I’m not sure what I was most impressed with here - the appearance, the fact that it tastes nowhere near 6.5% aIc, or the price? ..This costs 15.50 a case in a town that overcharges for beer. An exceptional deal.

Fun dark pour and coffee rich flavor that pours dark and has a decent tan head. Easy to pull across the tongue and has an astringent finish.

Malty and chocolate smell upon the pour releasing a light brown head and a very dark body. no noticeable carbonation. A smooth hint of chocolate and a spec of mint on the palate. nice porter put together by jw.

Very different on tap from in bottle. A Scotch Porter (listed as such when on tap, but not in the bottle), the bottle version is slightly undercarbonated and a little thin tasting. Still quite good, but a little like toasted barleywater. On tap, however, it is world class, malty and sweet with a little alcohol bite on top. This beer (on tap) is far better than I thought would come from the J.W. Dundee line, I think they should promote it heavily and come up with a stout as well.

Very impressed with this porter. For a widely distributed beer, this one really scores high. Great, rich flavor and solid looking beer.
