COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An American style unfiltered wheat beer. Pale straw in color, our Hefeweizen exhibits a light cloudiness from carefully selected wheat and yeast. With its spicy wheat malt aroma and crisp hop finish our Hefeweizen is a light, pleasantly flavorful beer ideal for warmer weather.

I’d like to find something interesting to say about this, but I really can’t, so I’ll mainly use this space to note to myself not to buy this again (this one was a trade from Ron, thanks!) Looks are decent, hazy, nice lacing. Aroma and palate are minimal an inoffensive. There is some body, it definitely beats an American macro.

Appearance was nice, copper colored with a nice head. But it sure didn’t seem like it was unfiltered. Looked pretty clear. Did have a bit of the sharp sour yeasty taste. Nice aroma but not the typical hefe aroma, just a standard malt/hops type aroma. Don’t think they should call this a hefe on the label. I’d rate it better if if was represented for what it was, a decent light beer.

Pours and looks like a hefeweizen, light and cloudy and foamy, but with almost no aroma. Almost no flavor either, just a hint of citrus, and I mean a hint.

Bottle. Pour is a hazy straw color with a sizable white head. Not too much in the nose; maybe some yeast and mild spices? Flavor is similarly disappointing, with slight sweet notes, but no citrus or spices evident. Not great.

A cloudy yellow pour with last white head. Floral scent. Wheat and citrus taste.

Pours hazy bright and golden with a creamy white head and some minimal lacing. Aroma is faint but pleasant with citrus subtle hops (very subtle). Body is thin but mouthfeel is pleasant. Taste is citrus and a small amount of adjucts. Minimal finish but leaves no bad impression. Could easily drink a few of these on a hot day. Refreshing if not terribly memorable. That being said, this is the best beer I’ve had from High Falls.

11/25/2009 and 11/26/2009: Dundee Wheat Beer... Hazy and spicy like a true hefe, but mostly bland and light like an American Wheat beer; generic and disappointing.

12 fl. oz. bottle. Rating #238 for this beer.

This is not a favorite. It’s quite flat in flavor. The texture and carbonation are okay, but there is really no flavor. Straw.

12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark gold body with a very minimal white head. Not a whole lot of aroma going on here, some heavy wheat and a light yeastiness, but it doesn’t smell like Hefe yeast at all. The flavor is thick and heavy wheat with some bready and yeasty dough. No fruity esters that you associate with a Hefe. I guess that’s why they call it an American style hefeweizen on the label. Thick heavy mouthfeel. Soft fizzy carbonation. Not exactly light and refreshing. I finished the bottle, but wouldn’t grab a second. Ever.
