An extremely hoppy brown ale, in the American style. Dark, dark brown appearance. Light tan head. Considerable hop fragrance with gobs of bitterness assaulting you. A bit much for me, as the malt body is totally lost in there somewhere. What malt there is will be quite roasty. Good if you like a roasty, very bitter brown ale. Thanks, MattA.

Pours black-brown with 1 finger of white head and great lacing in glass. Nose is medium-strong of coffee bean. Medium-bodied palate is balanced and not too sweet like some brown ales. More coffee on palate with a long smoky finish.

kramer (3457) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 21, 2010
On tap, at brewery, RBWG 2010. Clear reddish brown body with a small fizzy beige head. Light nutty and slightly grainy nose with some light-roast coffee. The flavor is dry and nutty with light hop bitterness. Pretty solid, just a light graininess. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty darn good, probably the best beer on tap that day.
