Jul 20, 2009 on tap at the brewery in Dunedin. hazy copper pour with a thin off-white head. aroma of floral hops and mild roasted malts. tastes of grain malts, lemon citrus hops and some pepper. got some green apple in there somewhere too. pretty good.

Pours amber, off white head.
Aroma / taste, rye and malty scents and palate, sweet fruits, and good hop presence leaving a light bitter finish with citrus notes. The beer does keep some light enjoyable sweetness.

May 22, 2009 on tap-pours an off white head and hazy amber color. Aroma is sweet light/medium malt, some spice hops. Taste is pine/spice hops with some bite, some sweet light/medium malt.

Feb 21, 2009 Bright darkish amber. Herbal, woody hop nose with some slight crystal malt accent. Sweet. Nice crystal malt flavour but not overwhelmingly chewy. Hints of wood and light papaya late.

Feb 20, 2009 At brewpub. Clear copper with white head. Fruity and coffee-like aroma with acidity. Strange. Overly malty but almost balanced by its tannings. Juicy pears and apples are in the body. Finish is chalky and apple-skin tannic with some tobacco too. Feels like a high gravity brew.

Feb 14, 2009 Draft at Redlight Redlight. Pours a clear, brassy, copper-amber color. A small, foamy, off-white head leaves delicate, sticky bands of lacing behind. Aromas of rye malt, caramel, and cereal grains are accompanied by orangey citrus hops and hints of lemon rind. Flavors are well balanced, with a big rye component imparting its signature, clean, grainy sharpness to the sweet malt, while peppery citrus hops lend significant bitterness. The body is substantial, with lively carbonation that intensifies the hop flavor. A mild astringency shows on the finish. Pretty nice overall.
