On tap at the brewery. Pours reddish amber with a white head. Mild toasted aroma. The flavor tastes very sweet with a strong rye grain finish. This seems to be a fairly big beer with a thick and chewy palate. This has the palate of a barleywine at only 7.2% ABV.

kramer (5770) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 21, 2010
On tap, at brewery, RBWG 2010. Clear dark copper body with a small creamy off-white head. Very light hops on the nose, mostly caramel and toasty malt, minimal rye. There’s a good bit of bitterness on the flavor, but it’s a little ashy and harsh. Finishes a little peppery and spicy from the rye. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with soft carbonation. Pretty forgettable as far as Rye beers go.

Tap at Dunedin at RBWG 2010 bus tour. Pours a deep copper and moderate head. Aroma is fruity esters, earthy hops, light citrus, spicy rye malts, but turns to solvent and chemical as it warms. Flavor has caramel malts, toast, earthy spicy rye malt, and a bit of orange-lemon soapiness and raw bitterness in the end with high beta and cohumulone.

On tap at the brewpub during RBWG 2010. The aroma is very citrusy with distinct orange. The flavor is surprisingly mild for an ipa, some citrus, malt, soap, and bitterness, but not much else.
