Sampled at St Pete Creative Loafing Beerfest. Very smooth and almost creamy in character. Somewhat wheaty as well with light fruits and a hint of grape.

Draft at Redlight Redlight. Pours a lightly hazy, glowing orange-yellow color. A dense, spongy layer of snow white foam lasts for nearly the entire drink, leaving thick, sheety lacing that holds steadfast to the glass. Fruity and yeasty, the nose shows notes of kumquat, tangerine, lemon peel, candy sugar. Some peppery spice notes and doughy yeast with powdered sugar complete the aroma. Flavors are very sweet and candyish, with loads of intense, bread yeast drowning out the more pleasing, tangy citrus peel notes. Medium-plus on the palate, the body is a little syrupy and overly alcoholic. Pretty decent for a tripel, but this is not a style I long for often.

At brewpub. Hazy strawberry blonde color with lacing. Aroma oozes sweet candy and bubble gum. American tripel aromas. So sweet my eyes pop. Sticky mouthfeel. Juicy, almost like a soft drink or a Goya juice. Almost unbearable.

dchmela (2271) - Orlando, Florida, USA - FEB 3, 2009
Draft at Redlight. Pours a dark gold with a thin white head. Thick and spicy sweet candy malt aroma. Spicy hops, sweet candy sugar malt taste. A little thick and cloying, but overall a decent triple.

Draft at Redlight Redlight. Golden honey color with a sticky white head. Flavors are vanill and grass with some well hidden alcohol. Good, but nothing really new.

On tap @ Redlight. Slightly hazy yellow pour, thin broken white head. Odd phenolic nose, almost suggests overripe fruit. Taste was straightforward sweet grainy tripel with some peppery notes on the finish. Pretty basic.

draft @ redlight redlight. Spicy bananas on the nose, some clove and corriander, maybe grains of paradise with some peppery. Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a thick white head. Big banana flavor, spicy yeast with corriander and grains of paradise. Solid tripel!

on tap-pours a thin white head and yellow/gold color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-rock candy, some spice-clove, yeast. Taste follows sweet medium malt-rock candy, some spice-clove, yeast, tart-lemon. OK effervescence.

Poured up in a squat tulip glass with a clear deep gold body and impressive near bright white head of foam. It was served a little too cold. The aroma seems to be honey, pilsner malts, candi sugar, a hint of pepper, banana, bubble gum and light colored fruity esters. It has a thick and rich flavor with notes coming in from all directions all at once. I get notes of Belgian candi sugar, sweet thick honey infused syrup, bold and brash notes of prunes and raisins being mixed with banana and a mild background of bubble gum. Could improve with age to attain a more blended smooth sensation. Very nice now though and I get no sense of the big 10.7% ABV.
