3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 nick76 (3587) - Tampa, USA - JAN 19, 2006
The aroma is not as strong as I imagined since the flavor is so diverse and complex. The aroma is sweet with some hops and a little yeast. The appearance is a deep copper with a small head. The flavor has caramel, pine, orange, cloves, ginger, and nutmeg. The palate is typical for a winter beer. The aftertaste in spicy.

Pours to a bronzed body with a tall creamy rocky off-white head and great lacing. The aroma is a dusty dry spice like a collectibles store. Spicy wreaths. The flavor is spicy Christmas wreaths. Overly spicy and not blended well. The palate is overly spiced. I didn’t like this one much.

Pint courtesy of Degarth, thanks! Cloudy orange pour, with a big white head. Malty, spicy smell. Heavy on the malts, citrusy taste along with some spices. Seems a little unbalanced, but definetly an interesting beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 footbalm (1219) - Western Minneapolis Suburbs, Minnesota, USA - JAN 21, 2007
Bottle from Degarth. Thanks Joe. Pours a copper-amber color with a bit of off white head. The blend of aromas come together to resemble a Christmas pot pouri or some dessert cooking in the kitchen. Not heavy notes at all but rather hard to define. Taste was the same. the flavors were subdued but still not bad.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ibrew2or3 (4914) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - DEC 17, 2006
16 oz bottle. Poured a clear copper color with thin white head. The aroma is on the light side with slight malt sweetness and hints of wintry spices. The spice flavors are bright with nutmeg, cinnamon and maybe even coriander. Behind the spicy veil is a murmur of sweet caramel malts. Lighter still is the note of hops. Too subtle for my hop stunted palate to discern. Nice tasty winter brew. The only negative I have for this low gravity ale is that the spices could be a bit softer. Sure wouldn’t want ‘em too soft though.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 kenb (1102) - Oregon, USA - DEC 7, 2006
22 oz cl Bottle via Mystery swap from Degarth (thanks!). Pours a clear amber with a massive head that hangs around for almost forever. Nose is nice with some toasted grains, vanilla, honey, ginger. This doesn’t really come out in the taste though. Mostly just the toasted grains, way too much ginger, some malts, and some citrus hops. Chalky finish and tart aftertaste. So-so...
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 apoptosis (1316) - Long Island, New York, USA - NOV 30, 2006
the aroma is quite festive and strong! I can smell the cinnamon and ginger from at least a few inches from my nose. There is a strong pine presence as well. The flavor is filled with spices, but it is pleasantly earthy and not too sweet at all. As a "winter warmer" it is a bit too low in the alcohol, but nonetheless it is a pretty well-balanced and decent beer. Almost chewy mouthfeel, smooth.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 notalush (3743) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 30, 2006
Bottle from Santa - cloudy copper pour (hurray for unfiltered beer!), with a huge, frothy head - strong gingerbread aroma, with some doughy/yeasty hints - quite an earthy smell - quite sweet, but not overpoweringly so - the honey is quite evindent, and it mixes quite well with the ginger and nutmeg - bread/dough character from the yeast - it gets a nice zing from the orange zest near the end, before closing with a long finish of clover honey and herbal flavors - a nice change of pace from most Christmas beers.

Bottle at Cock & Bull, Sarasota, FL. Poured hazy brown color with a large fizzy white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate spicy sweet yeasty aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Heavy sweet spicy flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.
