On draft at Stogies and Stouts. Very unique, a great idea. Pours brown with an off-white head. Nose is oreo, vanilla, sugar, slight roast, and earth. Flavor is similar with distinct notes of oreo that make the standard stout much sweeter, but much lighter in body. I noticed that it seemed a bit thin, but that is a trifle compared to the sweetness. Enjoyable.

On tap at the 2010 installment of Stogies and Stouts pouring very dark with ruby / mahogany edges and tan head. The very light aroma seems to be roast and a sense of sweetness. The taste begins with a pleasing smoothness rolling into dark roasted malts, chocolate cookie and a nice sweet creaminess too. Damn, this is good stuff.

Tap @ Dunedin for Stogies and Stouts ’10. Oreo and beer? sure why not and this one came out as another amazing treatment of Croon. pours dark brown, off-white head. Aroma, cookie sweetness, doughy, oreo and nice malty roast. Flavor, Croon’s profile, light in body, nice roast and hints of chocolate malts. The oreo treatments adds a new dimension to the beer, lots of doughy elements, some milky/lactic buttery cream, cookie profile, roasted.

Draft at Stogie & Stout. Poured black with a thin brown head. Aroma is like roasted Oreo cookies, but in a really good way. Very smooth and thinner than I expected, but nice. It really does taste like an Oreo cookie... and I liked it!

Draft @ the brewery. Pored black with a thin brown head. Nose is roast and Oreo cookies. Body is thin with a smooth mouth feel. Flavor is sweet with roasted malt and loads of Oreo cookie. Finishes sweet with lingering chocolate flavor. Definitely my favorite of the Croon treatments.

On cask at Stoogies and Stouts A: Pours a nice dark black with a small head. No real retention lace. S: Real nice aroma. Roasted malt, chocolate, and cream. You can tell they is an ass load of cookies in here. Smells Oreo like. T: Tasty for sure. Tastes like a light thin stout chalk full of oreos. Lots of chocolate cookie, and I can even pick up flavors of the oreo creamy center. Real cool beer I like it. M: Thin Thin Thin, but it is only 5%. Wish it had a bit more body, my only complaint about the beer. D: Tasty would loved to have had a pint this morning with breakfast. Would like to try it with their coffee stout as a base. I look forward to more beers like this and other other stout treatments from Dunedin.
