2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 cheapdark (2962) - Quiptown & Central Valley, USA - JAN 24, 2010
Stronger initial flavor blast. Cloudy pale beer. A little more personality than I care for in a wheat, I guess that’s why it’s a wheat ale. Smell is quite wheaty. Comes across a little stronger than 5%. Good overall carbonation. Glad to have had the chance to taste this. Had it at the Dunedin Brewery.

Very light for a wheat. Not much actual wheat flavor. Some citrus, orange flavor with some light malts. Clean and crisp, made for hot sunny summer beach days I guess.

On tap, at brewery, RBWG 2010. Pours a slightly cloudy yellow gold body with a small wispy white head. The nose is fairly minimal, some light wheat and pale malts with a touch of light hops and some yeastiness. The flavor is a bit thin with the usual wheat and slingtly bready pale malts. Minimal to no hops. Some light lingering yeastiness on the finish. Fairly thin and light bodied with a soft fizzy feel. A touch thin and bland.

Tap at Dunedin at RBWG 2010 bus tour. Pours a hazy straw- deep gold with a thinning head. Aroma is wheat, toast, biscuit, a bit of lemon zest, cream of wheat doughiness, and a touch of phenolics. Flavor is similar- with a warming doughy wheat, but becomes a bit chemically, with chlorine and solvent- strange.
