Poured a medium, hazy amber color with an averaged sized white head. Strong butterscotch aroma with caramel and toffee. Nutty tasting as well.

Draught at the brewpub. Dark amber pour with a small off white head. Nose of sweet malts, small amounts of piney hops, funky yeast and fruits. Tastes much the same, nice balance of the fruity sweetness and the hops. Good stuff.

SHIG (2705) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - FEB 5, 2007
Bottle: Poured a hazy amber color with thick fast accuating head, very reactive with lots of carbonation. Sweet wheat and hoppy aroma. The flavor was sour and bitter at first but subsided to a mellow sweet malt.

Dark copper color with a thin head. Dry and dirty hop aroma. The taste is a little barnyard-ish, almost like a dull Saison. Way too carbonated. It feels like Champagne.

16 OZ bottle via degarth(thanks!). This pours out a semi-hazy copper with a small white head. I really cannot detect much in the nose, maybe some mellow caramel and toasty malts. Taste starts with some somewhat sweet but uninspring caramel, a bit of toastiness, a bit of hay, some lemon, and some mild British hops. Finish is almost dry...medium body. Chalky mouthfeel. Over-carbonated....

Bottle from Degarth. Pours a dark copper with an off white head. Smells of earthy hops, some metallic elements, and some malt. Tastes of malt with aminimal hop presence and some nutty tinges.

Bottle. Very sour aroma. Cloudy red/brown colour. Small white head. Quite sour flavour, a little malty and spicy. Infected.

16oz bottle. Clear copper color with thin off white head. The aroma is on the light side with mostly sweet malts. Nice flavor. Starts off sweet then hops enter the picture almost midway. A rich caramel and slight fruitiness build right at the midpoint and recede into a grainy pale malt character. Tasty beer.

Thanks to Degarth for this. Pours coppery with 1-finger off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, brown sugar, vinous fruit, peaty earthiness, with a flvaor of peaty malt, caramel, some honey, brown sugar, and earthy notes. Finished slightly dry with some backdoor hops. This one isn’t as bad as the average might have you believe.

Mildly hoppy with a slight caramely touch. Honestly, it’s pretty thin and bland. Oktoberfests just aren’t my thing.

Thanks to Sk8viking - Unclear amber body, white head; Very nice nose, sour fresh, green apples, unripe pear, lemon; Full carbonation, acidy body; Long and little harsh finish, acidy, bitter, pleasant, green fruits in aroma (Style-wise???).
