Nice hop floral aroma. A crisp but tasty floral bite. Not much hops in the finish, but it’s fine, since this beer makes you think that a mild pale is what you were hoping for. A bit creamy and enjoyable.

A middle of the road ale here. The hops were very noticable. Nothing really special though, just an average brew, but there’s nothing wrong with that.

I enjoyed this one a lot. Started off with a fresh citrus hop nose. Body was a glowing amber, white fluffy head, nice lacing. Nice beady, lightly sweet malts. Hops are interesting - 2 distinct layers of flavor - a woody warm hop along the sides, and a big citrus, orange juice hop on top of that - I loved that flavor. I'd like to see this one pumped up a bit to make it an IPA. (another winner from Matta!)
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 desurfer (1159) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - SEP 20, 2006
UPDATED: SEP 29, 2006 Medium amber/gold body, huge beige head. Lots of tasty floral hoppiness along with bready malts. Way too much carbonation, which is a significant drawback. More alcohol is present in the finish for a relatively low ABV brew. Pretty good.
Rerate: On tap, this is a much better pale ale, with the carbonation under control and less of a boozy aftertaste.

#300!!! Thanks to Matta for sending this one!
This was a good trade! This Pale is a winner that starts off with a big creamy head riding on a beautiful burnished copper beer. Grapefruit hops balanced with a light malt in the aroma which is clean and refreshing and sets you up for the taste which is well balanced. It finishes with a slight bitterness that is just right. Balance is the word for this beer. Matt has chosen a good one to keep on hand in his ’fridge. And look Pippin, it comes in pints!

From bottle : Pours a dark cloudy amber color with a nice white head, quite carbonated. A spicey hop aroma with citrus hints. Thin to medium body, that is smooth on the palate, and leaves a nice creamy "afterfeel". I really like the flavor, hoppy then i expected, with a nice bitter end.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2003 Dunedin seems to have made another winner in my books. I found this Pipers Pale Ale to have a beautiful full citrus/hoppy aroma. This cloudy amber beer pours a nice sized head, looking oh so appetizing. The beer had a little spice to it, and just the right amount of Cascade hopp for me, leaving a nice bitter finish. I believe this beer could possibly pass as an IPA. I have always been a big fan of Sierra Nevada APA, but now Pipers Pale APA is in contention. ** Update, 9/6/03 – Nice to see Dan enjoyed this one! Anyway, I am excited to say that after bugging my favorite local pub owner for many months he finely put this APA on draft, and it is just so much better than bottled, which I thought was pretty damn good stuff. Rating upgrade is in order!

8/7/03: on tap at the Dunedin Brewery. lots of hops to the nose. nice orange-gold body with a good amount of lace. great hop flavor. (note to self: dad’s favorite at this brew pub).
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Aubrey (3193) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - APR 9, 2004
Medium amber in color. Nice mouthfeel. Soft and medium-bodied with a multi-leveled carbonation. Malts were tasty: lightly toasted, a little doughy, slightly nutty, and a little sweet. Hops complemented well, balancing things out. Grassy and herbal with a pinch of spiciness. Grapefruit and lemon hang out on the roof of the mouth and look down on the tongue-dwelling bitterness. Overall, nicely balanced and nicely flavored. I didn't know Florida had it in it! Good beer! ... I just read some other ratings, and it sounds like this stuff degrades quickly. Thanks for the fresh bottle, matta!
