Pours a ridiculously large head. Alcohol, though not pervasive, overwhlems the flavor, of which there is even less.

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2006 22 oz bottle via Degarth (thanks!). Pours a semi clear amber with a huge bubbly beiege head. Nose has some subtle fruitiness and some toasty malts. Flavor starts out a bit bitter, then some orange/lemon, some sweet molasses, and finishes with some toffee and perhaps a tiny bit of chocolate malt. Has a mildly bitter aftertaste reminiscent of some English Bitters. Very nice beer.

Bottle. It’s taking me quite some time to pour this one. Just a small, slow pour down the side of the glass causes an eruption of foam. I’ve got a large, rocky tan head after 10 minutes of the beer sitting. I’ve only poured half the bottle too. Aroma has plenty of grapefruit and citrus notes with just a light bready sweetness. The predominant flavor is that of tart bread and citrus spiciness. The finish brings out more caramelly notes. Just a medium amount of astrigincy is detected. Pretty simple amber ale, good for the climate in which most of Dunedin’s consumers are.

Dark amber body with a small tan head. Nice balance between some doughy malts and a light hop character. Very drinkable.

Reddish copper, thin beige head. Nice clean malty sweetish aroma. Crisp, slighty resiny hop flavor at first, with a flinty, dry finish. Not much complexity, but simple and tasty. Pretty decent hot weather session ale.

Roasted malt, sweet aroma. Pours a light brown, reddish color. The flavor had a hint of roasted malts, some caramel, not a lot of hops, mostly sweet flavor. I think Ibrew2or3 below me might have gotten a bad bottle!

Bottle, pint--Poured an amber to soft red color with a large head. There wasn’t much aroma at all. The taste was mostly malt with a touch of caramel and finaly some hops popping up.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 28, 2006
Hazy golden ale with a thick overflowing big bubbled off white head. Light herbal aroma, difficult to catch through the humongous foam. In mouth, crisp malt, lightly nutty, with decent hops. Very decent shape for 1 yr old beer.

Strong grapefruit nose in its intial appearance. Taste of good malts. Hops is secondary but it is present. Has a somewhat sugary presence. Good drinking
