Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate fruity acidic with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090221]

(On tap) Clear, amber golden with a creamy, off-white cappuchinoish head. Malty, lightly roasted nose. Medium-bodied with some roasted malt, some caramel and an underlying sweetness. Dry, lightly hoppy finish. 040406

Bottle. Quite fruity aroma, red berries. Hazy red colour. Very small tan head. The flavour is also quite fruity. Has a lot of berries, quite dry, though. Turns a little citric in the finish. Quite high carbonation.

Hazy dull red-amber. Extract aroma with grainy toasty note. Some tobaccoey notes, raw grain. Thin. This really doesn’t come together.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2010 (Draught and 12oz bottle, courtesy of Swalden28) Pours a clear amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, pine, grass, grain, and herbs. Flavor of caramel malt, grain, and mild hops (grass, light citrus, herbal).

Red amber with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, tangerine and apricot. Dry and malty flavour with a bright, fruity hop character.

Draft… Lightly hazed amber ale with orange highlights and a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. Fruity, caramel, mashy aroma. Medium-bodied with a sticky mouthfeel and reserved carbonation. Big caramel flavor. Sweet and malty, but not cloyingly so, with a light note of black tea. Reminiscent of the original recipe for West Virginia Appalachian Ale (1992, first brew-pub beer I ever tasted) and Lake Tahoe Red. Toasted, caramel finish. Extremely drinkable.
