1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 RAYBOY01 (2005) - Chicago, USA - FEB 27, 2005
Maybe the best beer they have...but don’t get excited by that! Very mild hop bitterness, and I do mean mild...Weird detergent aftertaste...maybe they just cleaned their tap lines....but that’s OK, because it had SOME flavor...
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 unclebleen (620) - California, USA - AUG 1, 2004
This doesn’t really seem like an APA to me. All I really tasted was a soap-like quality and lots of malt. Little carbonation.
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 BBB63 (5028) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - MAY 10, 2004
Light orangy amber hue with faded fizzy head and no lace or body. The aroma hints of floral hops and citrus, caramel malts, but also displays a soapy and vegetable nose. The taste has a buttery biscuit, grainy and twangy hops taste, but again an off-taste of veggies and dirty lines ruin the palate. Mouthfeel is watery and bland, fizzy, no depth. Avoid this an ALL Duneland beers until under new ownership or till the day it closes.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 jaymobrown (1457) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 28, 2003
Light copper color. Tastes like rubber and yeast. Sparkling mouthfeel. Phenol. Some type of inner-tube taste. Some cereal tastes. Needs more hop and malt flavors to make this have more character.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Volgon (2716) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 6, 2003
RateBeer Summer 2003: Clear light orange color, stale hops aroma with a bit of malts. Flat mouthfeel. Unimpressive.
3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 hopscotch (7535) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 1, 2003
RBSG2003
Crystal clear amber brew. Small, creamy white head.
The aroma is Malt Heaven! Caramel Popcorn! Butterscotch, toffee... everything malt! Original Ovaltine. Vanilla. Smells great!
The flavor is rich and malty! Abundance of tart hop flavor to balance things out. Slightly vineous as well.
Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and pillow-soft carbonation.
Lengthy, dry, astringent finish.

Slightly sweet, some malt and a bit of hops. This doesn’t automatically good beer. Average.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2003 OHHHH!!!! The slightest hint of hops lets them call this a Pae Ale. Obviously the brewer has never had a pale ale... They aren't supposed to smell like bubblegum and soap, They aren't supposed to be flat and lifeless, and they are supposed to have somewhat of a balance between malt and hops. This place has been close to my house for years and I've never heard of it...now I know why. RE-RATE: Much closer to a pale ale in the bottle, just don't get one from the tap!!
