Deep brown, thin tight tan head. Toasted malt nose. Flavour follows the nose. Smooth, slightly slick mouthfeel. Lovely texture, quite light. Finish is more roasted malt. Minimal hops. Well balanced.

This brew pours brownish-black with a medium thick khaki head that diminishes slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and a touch of vinegar. Light body with flavors of toasted malt, dark chocolate and more vinegar. The finish is roasty with a vanilla and malt aftertaste. Something seemed off about this one, below average overall.

Bottle. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma hop, coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, cocoa. Flavour is hop, coffee, roasted malt, cocoa. Medium body. Ordinary beer.

I dont know what I was expecting, but this exceeded anything I had in mind. Color was oil black with an off white to tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasty malty, caramel, butter, a slight hop nose. Palate is perfect, went down so smooth like a milk or lacto stout. creamy barley, almost oaty. delicious

Dark creamy brown almost black pour with a broad tan head and lacing. Aromas of roasted malt, hops, coffee, peat, chocolate, vanilla and berry. Full bodied, dry and bitter on initial sip. The coffee and hops are the first flavours you can pick up. The sweet components arrive next in the order of fruit, chocolate tailing off with vanilla. BRS is earthy and very tasty indeed. February 15, 2011. Shared by garthicus with blankboy and me. 500ml bottle. Deep red-black with an average lasting pancake batter light brown / tan mottled head. Roasty aroma, not too sweet, little hint of iodine - dry. Taste follows, pungent and sweaty bitterness, hardly any alcohol - again, simple dry roast. Slick, average body, mild carbonation, simple finish, but a hint of dry whiffy peat comes out in the linger. Salty iodine character in there too - not bad, just odd.

Look: Black. Slightly lingering beige head
Nose: Coffee but lingers as bizarre, almost decay
Taste: Barely noticeable carbonation. Start: odd & complex flavours, borderline dry, good finish.
Atypical but good stout.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, some coffee and chocolate. Flavor is sweet and somewhat roasted with some dark chocolate and a dry finish. Medium to thin body, average carbonation.
