COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with local oats from Flahaven’s mills and coffee specially roasted by Badger and Dodo, the oatmeal imparts a rich smoothness which balances the roasted flavours of the barley while in the background there’s a subtle hint of the earthy espresso flavours.

Bottle. A dense, finger-thick, dark beige head over a clear, reddish dark brown body. Coffee, roasted malts and some dark chocolate on the nose, along with a touch of dried fruits. There’s a nice hoppy bitterness in the flavor, balancing roasted malts, coffee and some chocolate. A touch of dried fruits too. Medium to full body, smooth carbonation, although a bit sharp due to the roasted malts. Lasting finish with roasted malts and coffee. A pleasant one. 120218

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2011 Pours dark cola like, thin, with a beige head . Strong aroma of coffee, porridge, burnt toast, barley. More carbonated and crisp than expected. Strong roasted malt and slightly bitter espresso flavour. Oatmeal is more subtle on the palate for me. Its a solid stout but nothing more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark black with a medium-small head. Gentle roasted aroma, some coffee and a very restrained sweetness. The oatmeal flavour is quite mild, and the beer is definitely on the dry side. Coffee and tar are strong, with a long dry finish. Nice firm body and a slightly sticky texture that seems odd in a dry beer.
