3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Finally (and probably temporarily) this beer brings me to the number one spot for raters of Irish beers. Bottle. Appearance: Copper, almost hazy. Medium off white head. Aroma: Mildly fruity, good amount of malt, nice yeast nose too with a pleasant apple quality. Flavour: Malt, nice caramel quality, bitter, lightly hopped with a good yeastiness too, long bitter finish, quite a nice brew I found it quite pleasant and would happily drink again.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from O’Briens, Athlone
Copper red, clear, light beige big frothy head, some lacing
Aroma of toasted brown bread, toasted caramel malts, soft berry fruits
Taste of toasted caramel, bit earthy, touch of rust, fairly bitter twiggy hops, red berry fruits
Palate - Fairly soft carb, light to medium body, light sweet berry malts. Finish of bitter toasted malts, lingering bit over bitter rusty note I’m not keen on
Overall - More going on here than usual for an Irish Ale, but those rust notes spoilt it somewhat for me

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The very best example of an Irish Ale I’ve had to date. Not my favorite style to be sure, but this was very easy to enjoy. Bready malts highlighted by a smoothness rarely found in Irish Ale’s which tend to be over-carbonated. Beautiful finish on this one, another good one from this brewer.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A little too bitter and metallic in the end, but a great copper colour with a quite complex flavour.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled, 0.5l. Slightly hazy copper color with thin beige head, soft carbonation and some yeast residue. Aroma of spicy hops, barley malt, yeast and strong fruitiness. Taste of caramel malt and dried fruits, on the other hand aftertaste is long and pleasantly hoppy. Medium to full bodied, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. I liked this one very much...
