COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A refreshing blonde ale generously hopped to give bitterness and aroma that packs a punch. Great with spicy food.

stravale (1883) - Near Carrick-on-Shannon, IRELAND - MAR 18, 2014
Bottle @ Copper Still, Dromod [180314]
Blonde, slight haze, frothy dense white head, good lacing
Aroma of citrus hops, soft grapefruit, sweet fruity pale malts, some tropical fruit in there, fruity nose
Taste of fresh citrus hops, grapefruit pith, sweet fruity pale malts, touch of biscuity malt, dab of pine, grapefruit zest,
Palate - soft carb, medium body, quite oily, good mouthfeel, sweet pale malts, decent hoppy citrus bite. Finish as main flavour with a nice lingering sharp citrus zest
Overall - A lot of these bottled golden ales are rather dull and insipid - this is not the case - really decent blonde, plenty of flavour. Found it better quite chilled

Bottle at mum and dads, from Callans, 18/01/14. Hazed golden with a big old off white head that dissipates a touch but retains. Nose is bitter orange, toasted malts, dank hop notes, straw, orange marmalade, light mineral notes, bitter apricots. Taste comprises straw, bitter orange, citric tang, earthy. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, grassy bitterness in the closure. Ok GB affair.

50cl bottle at home. Pours cloudy marmalade orange. Lots of sediment. Head dissipates to nothing. Sour bread aroma. Flavour is sour, bitter, pine, spruce, toast. Medium bodied rounded with nice medium bitterness. This is another good beer from Dungarvan.

Beautiful huge white head, very pleasant aroma of bubblegum and citrus, refreshing bitter taste with a more bitter aftertaste. Very easy drinking and well balanced. Actually itís an IPA. I definitely guess itís dry hopped.

It smelled as an American pale ale and the taste is almost perfect (although a little bitter too much in the end). I am happily surprised.

Drinks like an ESB. Nicely hopped. Some fruity esters and maltiness in the aroma as well as very low level diacetyl. Aggressively hopped in the bittering range. Only serious flaw is chill has and could be just a little more malty to balance the hoppiness.

Amber gold pour, big foamy white head which lasts. Hay and grass in the aroma with a few notes of sweet sugary fruits. No sweetness in the flavour, quite a sour maltiness with hops forward. Light bodied any strongly carbonated. Not bad.

Mainly bottle - on draught a couple of time at Against the Grain. Enjoyable fresh tasting beer. Like any craft brewing in Ireland, needs constructive criticism. We are getting there and this is a creditable effort. Iíd have no problem ordering it when available - I was sorry to leave AtG -but my colleague insisted on hitting the Bull and Castle :)

Cask - Against the Grain, Dublin 2. A triumph - an Irish ale thatís available on hand pump and tastes good. Bottled version not as good - but we need to encourage breweries like Dungarvan to keep experimenting. Recommended

Beverina, con note floreali e finale leggermente amaro....da bere una pinta dietro líaltra..anche se non indimenticabile
