Collaboration beer between Kissmeyer Beers (Denmark) and Braserie Dunham. Christmas Saison brewed with a bit of maple syrup and pomegranate, gently spiced, fermented with farmhouse yeast and brettanomyces. Available only in bottled condition 750ml bottles and on tap. Oh, and by the way! Why Broderus? Because this beer was test brewed with Anders Kissmeyer on the 6th of october 2011 and finally re-brewed this year on the 6th of october! This day being the day of Broderus, an old viking king, in Denmark...means The Second Coming of Broderus!

Fruity nose with a spice interplay, really, really nice! Not so much brett upfront, but its dry palate from the first sip leaves no one wondering that it is there. Good bitterness, not out of place in a tasty beer like this one. Mouthfeel and carbonation are fine, nothing to say about them at least. Flavors of fruits again, not sure I would pick pomegranate as the culprit but they are obviously red. I would drink this regularly, even more so if it develops a little more on the brett front... wouldn’t that be great? Imagine a fruitier Orval now!

On draft at ChurchKey DC. Pours a hazy copper with an off white head. Fruity nose. Flavors of tropical fruits and brett. Dry, metallic finish.

Draft at Churchkey. Cloudy straw color, bright white head. Aroma of dusty spiced straw. Taste is peppery hay and light lemon, decent funk. Nice.

750ml bottle. very clear golden color and a beautiful 1 finger head. I detect a citrus smell followes by spices and dominent malts (wheat and barley). taste is pretty much the same. the maple syrup is not very noticable. still.. manages to be very good

Bottle from Halles St-Jean shared with wife. Aroma: bread, cereal, barnyard, alcohol. App: clear copper with small white head. Taste and Palate: medium body, lively carbonation, medium sour finish. Overall: Really well balanced, like the sour finish

Difficult to perceive the maple and pommegrenate. I ended up adding a bit of salt. Very good product.

Bottle, thanks Colin! Hazy dark yellow, small foamy white head. Aroma featured a vegetable quality I did not dig, plus some fruit and mild spicy notes. Taste is much better - big fruity, tart notes, well carbonated lively body, warming alcohol, and a spicy finish. Dry, clean, and really delicious - this is a fantastic saison.

From 750 ml in tulip. Pour is hazy orange with a frothy white head. Lots of farmhouse yeast in the nose. Fruity citrus and green apple notes. Nice sourness in the nose, less sour on the tongue. Very fruity taste backed by a light bitterness. It feels like the maple sirup adds a little sugary touch. Some tart notes are also present. High carbonation. Great beer with a lot of complexity!

750ml bottle from La Porte des Bières. Perfect shiny copper with 1cm foam head and sparkling. Nice spicy farmhouse yeast nose, definitively smell like a Christmas beer style. The yeast and the brett is well balance, medium bitterness, medium body (full body for this style) and long finish. Very well done.
