Collaboration beer between Kissmeyer Beers (Denmark) and Braserie Dunham. Christmas Saison brewed with a bit of maple syrup and pomegranate, gently spiced, fermented with farmhouse yeast and brettanomyces. Available only in bottled condition 750ml bottles and on tap. Oh, and by the way! Why Broderus? Because this beer was test brewed with Anders Kissmeyer on the 6th of october 2011 and finally re-brewed this year on the 6th of october! This day being the day of Broderus, an old viking king, in Denmark...means The Second Coming of Broderus!

My Bottom Line:
Citrus zest, funk, wooden allusions and cranberry juiciness gel in this highly creative Saison-like creature.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A healthy head of foam sits atop the hazy straw blond.
-The maple syrup contribution can be imagined in the wooden flavors and light sweetness, but I would not have guessed it were it not written on the label.
-The citrusy component and incoming dryness combine for refreshing results.
-This one has matured well and seems to be ready for many more months in peak form at this point in its life. Early on it was rough and intense, but after 6 months or so it has bloomed into a cohesive Saison.

[8046-20160128] 750mL bottle. Fruity spiced cleaner aroma has a hit of cayenne pepper. Slightly hazy, orange red body with. Quick foamy off-white head. Bitter and tart fruit flavour has an interesting spiced dried fruit base. Medium-full body hints at the booze but feels restrained. Really interesting. (7/4/9/4/16) 4.0

2016-01-28. Hazy dark orange body with a modest white head. 3+ Aroma is oddly herbal/herbaceous up front. Interesting fruit character, gooseberry maybe, vaguely vinous. Flavour is similar, bitter herbal character. Label says maple and pomegranate but I don’t really get either of those. Average plus bodied palate, good carbonation. 3+ 6/3/6/3/14 Bottle shared by Blankboy.

[My bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jercraigs & mabel] Pours a hazy golden-amber with an average size long-lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma of mango, herbs, yeast and a touch of pomegranate. Flavour of yeast, fruity and herbs followed by mango and other fruit. Herbal/spicy bitter finish – just a touch harsh. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good.

Draft at Parker pie. Straw golden yellow. Aroma is zesty lemon, pepper, hay. Funky yeast , lemon, straw, pepper. Pretty decent but not to the level of some other Dunham saisons
