(1209-300814)

Catching up on RBAG 2014 notes backlog... Bottle, shared by Dresden. Pale yellow with a thick white head. Sour citrus (lemon, white grapefruit) marries nicely with bretty funk, some grassy notes. Finishes quite dry. Excellent.

750ml bottle from Broue Ha Ha in Gatineau, Quebec. Golden yellow in colour with a large long lasting white head, excellent lacing. The aroma is woody, slightly sour, some brett, lemons and grapes. The flavour is lightly tart, has some pepper spice, lots of grapes and wood, yeasty. Bretty finish, long and rather complex. Excellent.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2014 Pour is hazy yellow with thick white head. Nose is sour with strong citrus and lots of funk. On the tongue it is a dry fruity pleasure. Oak barrel notes suit this beer perfectly. Citrus and tropical fruit notes are accompanied by some funk in an overall sour taste. High carbonation. Great beer!

5.5% Assemblage 1 an opaque deep gold slightly paler than the saison reserve.  It has a big fresh saison aroma with an almost celery quality to it. The taste is tart fruity sour saison. Very very nice. The saison reserve seems a bit flatter while the assemblage 1 seems more sparkly and vibrant.
