Nice palate of chocolate and bitterness. Feels like drinking unsweetened dark bitter chocolate with a nice american hops aroma.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
What a pleasure to try this at Only Cafe, bottle. Pours black with huge lasting puffy cocoa head. Gorgeous aroma and taste of lemon and coca and lemon/grapefruit peel zest. The pithy bitter is set off by the fruity-chocolate sweetness and lemon fruit. Medium semi-parching palate and bitter finish with lingering chocolate.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2013 Bouteille 341 ml. Long arrière-goût de torréfaction. On a droit ici à un intéressant mélange de stout maltée et d’IPA bien houblonnée.

[4632-20120731] 341mL bottle. Light citrus fruit roast aroma has a bit of a candy note. Black body with a long long-lasting creamy yellow mocha head. Bitter roast malt flavour has a nice long bitter aftertaste. Full body. Delicious, in a different way than the previous beer. (7/3+/8/4/16) 3.8+

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
341ml bottled poured into tulip. Pours a deep black-brown with some sediment and a finger and half thick light-brown head. Leaves some light/moderate lacing on the glass. Aroma is nice roasty and hoppy blend..."music to my nose"! I pickup some cereals too and the hops is quite floral. Taste is medium-bitter despite the advertised 95 IBU. Palate is seriously well-executed. Body is medium, with a creamy slick texture soft to average carbonation which enhances the creamy feeling. Finish is rather long (still not Stone-Ruination IPA-long...!) and of course bitter with the hoppy goodness that’s in there. Overall this is most likely the best single black IPA (meaning I’m not talking about double black IPAs) I’ve ever had! Honnestly Dunham has improved a lot. I was avoiding them like the plague before but now, I have to say: wow. This has become my new reference point in single black IPAs. Very, very well done.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Smells like stout, tastes like ipa and thick stinging malt. Its a good taste of brew, stout with sting. Hops smells citrusy and some pungent booze. On tap at rhinos.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
(Draught at Bryden’s, Toronto) Poured black with a medium height tan head, leaving small amounts of lacing. Aroma of very roasted malts, a bit of coffee, a hint of resinous hops (congestion may have blocked out some). Flavour rich roast, a little coffee and chocolate and pine resin hops up front, a little bitter but with a bit of sweetness too. The hops kick in after that though, bitter and matching well with the roast, finishing quite dry and balanced. Medium bodied, a little creamy with soft carbonation. This is a nice hoppy porter-style beer, maybe my condition made me miss the aromatics of the hops but the whole package is well done.
