COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Noire. Crémeuse. Chocolat. Torréfié. Anis. Houblon. Herbacé. Très forte amertume. Caramel brûle. Très houblonné. Onctueuse. Très sèche. Fruité. Toast grillé. Un bijou bien houblonné riche en arome.

Absolutely delicious and well balanced IPA. Bottle into tulip, purchased from Epicerie au coin Duluth. Pours a a deep, jet black with a nice creamy tan colored head. Nose of fresh hops, floral citrus. Great malt backbone balances out the hop character, making this IPA very sessionable and highly drinkable.

Nice palate of chocolate and bitterness. Feels like drinking unsweetened dark bitter chocolate with a nice american hops aroma.

BeerAdvent 2013 Day 24. ...Merry Christmas? Pours Very Dark Brown, MASSIVE beige head. Nose is black pepper, roasted malt, grapefruit. Flavour is lemon, grapefruit, licorice. They say it’s a cross of an IPA and a stout but the soft peppery palate and appearance made it seem half Belgian, reminds me of De La Senne Zwarte Piet. Awesome stuff, I’m a sucker for this type of palate.

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2012 Absolutely opaque black. Beautiful. Lots of bite for such a dark ale. It’s quite sharp and bitter but with a nice subtle roundness in the back. Not too drying on the palate. Love it.

341 ml bottle. Pours black with a thick, resilient beige head. Smells of coffee, dark chocolate and cocoa. Tastes like strong, dark chocolate, with a hint of citrus. Biting orange, lemon and grapefruit bitterness in the finish, accompanied by a lingering coffee bitterness. Medium to full bodied, slightly oily mouthfeel. Second Black IPA I ever have, and I can easily say I love this style. Best of that kind I’ve had thus far.

Pours dark and black with a tan head. has citrussy hop nose with a malty background. Has some earthy character and some nice piney notes. Big hop character and big malty goodness. Has a nice balance of roasty chololate malt and hops. Hops are typical C style lemony citrussy hops. has a nice clean finish and no earthiness at all. Overall a big Cascadian with everything one should have, strangely made in Quebec!
