Pours a really dark and hazy golden. The small and under control white head leaves some pretty intense lacing. Aroma is full of pine needles and (maybe) a little grapefruit. Taste is strongly bitter with not much malt to get in the way, like a good hop juice really. Flavors are again what you’d get if you chewed on some pine or a Christmas tree. A bit of alcohol is felt but it is not distracting and in line with the extreme nature of this beer. Last pour had a lot of sediments so appearance gets shot a little but it isn’t too gross. Overall a nice one!

Bottle thanks to Tommy. Orange and cloudy with yeast floaties. Head is white, thin and long retention. Aroma of mango, other tropical fruit, citrus, and of course heavy on the pine. Taste is similar but really heavy on biting bitterness. The malt is balancing nicely.

Thanks, Tommy. Orange brown body with thick foamy off-white head. Pine aroma. Taste is bitter and citrus with a medicinal finish.

For me a bit of a strange beer, its character seems not quite sure whether it is a strong beer or an IPA.It has a strong deep body with a lot of alcohol presence and malty taste that dominates the hops a bit too much for an IPA. The hops are there slightly at the beginning and then disappear until the aftertaste. Not bad but a bit unbalanced and too undefined to get a really high rating. A mix of styles that does not really combine perfectly well.

Beautiful orange, slightly cloudy pour with a generous head. Intense fruity aromas, with grapefruit shining. Medium carbonation, really fruity palate at first, peaches, apricot, with bitterness growing on the palate finishing on a pink grapefruit bitter finish. Wow. Am I really in Quebec city? Totally feels like (and probably deserves to be amongst) on par with the best IIPA from the U.S. Great job!

When I poured this beer, I was not impress, and the Aroma was ok (a good ok)... but wow! Not your typical IPA, so many flavor going on, it’s one for the keep! Another of Dunham’s awesome beers? I have to say yes, heck yeah!

Drank on tap (12 oz) at Le Saint-Graal (St. Therese, Quebec) on March 3, 2013. Honey copper, medium head. Peach spices aroma, well hopped,, slightly dry. Very green hop flavor, a little sweet grapefruit, good green bitterness. This is as good as his Cheval Blanc version!

341mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks Dany), pours a murky brownish orange with a big white head. Aroma is the most potent, with light notes of floral hops, along with hay, bready malts and meadows. Flavour seems like more of an east coast or British IPA, with English hops, floral notes, fresh meadows, earthy foresty notes, bread crusts, and lots of biscuity malts. This one doesn’t punish you with hops, but the flavour profile is very elegant. At first I was underwhelmed, but the flavours mesh better and better together, and it warms up to you. Great stuff, albeit atypical for a I(I)PA.
