A deep dark porter with a thin lacing dark brown head. In aroma, a smooth roasted coffee malt with light nutty notes and floral hops. In mouth, an intense herbal roasted coffee with bitter chocolate, some very bitter and grassy hops, with metallic notes. Interesting. On tap at Vices et Versa, Feb. 10 2012.

On tap at Brouhaha, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma of light roasted malt and bitter dry cocoa powder. Flavour is more roasted than the nose suggests, with lots of hops (not as much as the black IPA). Robust indeed, and well-balanced - through quite aggressive. Excellent stuff.

Fresh bottle from Veux-Tu. This is a hoppy porter, with bold and zesty taste. Very Good drinkability and worth seeking out. Black coloured body.

2015-09-08. Very dark brown body, massive foamy beige head. 3++ Aroma is dusty lightly roasty dark malt. Flavour is malty, quite dry and dusty up front, with notes of cocoa. Dark malty core. Lightly dry finish. Smooth average plus body, very effervescent carbonation. 3+ There is a thinness (possibly unintentional) to the overall impression that detracts slightly but it is still fairly nice. Bottle shared by Ferris.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2013 My Bottom Line :
Toasted caramel malts, dark chocolate-like roasted malts and spruce-y hop resins join in this complex and highly enjoyable hopped-up Porter.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A slice of foam covers the dark brown-edged blackness.
-Everything is superbly integrated; a flavorful, complex whole.
-This is as good as Smuttynose’s Robust Porter, if not better (less caramel, more toast and roast).
-The mouthfeel is creamy and tight.
-The resinous hop bitterness is leveled to the roasted malts’.
-This is one of Dunham’s best creations so far.
-Hops also share a potent floral signature from nose to finish.

Bottles and on tap at Vices et Versa.

341 ml bottle.
Pours jet black color with a huge beige head. Lots of roast and chocolate on the nose, dark malts, some cocoa with subtle coffee notes. Flavor is roasty and dry with dark malts and hops, quite strong carbonation here, some faint ashy notes, cocoa, some coffee roast leading to a sweetish caramel-chocolaty finish. Lots of coffee bitterness on the aftertaste. Quite rich and tasty, the high carbonation disturbs a bit at first, evens out eventually though. Very nice and refined.

Another bottle thanks to Dany, this one for that thing that one time. With the duct tape. Pours a deep black with a thin to medium sized tan head. Big sweet roast on the nose, chocolate and cocoa, a touch of isopropyl which is odd. Medium to thick bodied, loads of roast. Nice depth, full of chocolate, and roast. Nice and easy drinking, tons of body. Picks up some charred malt notes into the finish. Rather tasty overall.

[7424-20150730] Tap. Light coffee grinds and roasted grainy chocolate malt aroma. Black body with a medium-lasting foamy light brown head and some thick lacing. Roasted malt grain flavour has a boozy burnt fruity wood base. Full body is fairly boozy. Good but quite big and bold. (7/4/8/3/15) 3.7
