In short: An original, tart and semi-wild cranberry ale
How: Tap at Vices & Versa, Montreal
The look: Opaque clowing dark orange topped by a persistent small white head leaving lots of lacings on the glass
In long: Nose is a bit on the wild side with rustic notes and mild funky notes over fresh cranberries. Taste is fruity with cranberries and tropical fruits, chewy cereals, dried orange peels, pleasant tartness of medium intensity, medium acidity level. Very full body with a smooth carbonation. At first I didn’t notice any oak, but the finish definitely has a woody astringent dryness. This beer is part thirst-beer, part nourishing beer and part sipper. Looks like some people really liked that beer and some people didn’t care for it. That’s ok, a rating is basically a very private thing… hey you! I never gave you the permission to read this.

Bottle 500ml. January 29th, 2012. Dark reddish pink color with white frothy head that dissiped quickly, Cranberry and others red fruits aromas. Fruity, woody flavor with an acidic dry finish. An OK fruit beer but not my type of beer. Rating #42

Cask at Cask Days 2011. Beer #11 of festival. Pours a murky pinkish-amber with a small quick diminishing off-white head. Sour fruity aroma, funky and tart, with lots of wood, some sugary sweetness, lactic notes and maple syrup. Flavour follows the aroma but is a little more subtle, it’s quite easy to drink. Average to medium bodied. Not a session beer by any means but a pint of this is very enjoyable.

Pours a redish amber color with a medium white head. Pleasant aroma of tart cranberries and wood. Interesting flavor of tart cranberries and wood, the wood is well integrated and well balanced, there’s also some acidity. The body is light and the carbonation is medium. Interesting.
