COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Aroma of hops and sour wheat. Body is a nice yellow, but there’s no head. Flavour is dry hops, with a slightly wheat detergent aftertaste, followed by a dry finish. It’s very drinkable.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2011 My Bottom Line:
Snappy citrusy hops develop plenty of resinous bitterness, as pale cereals are cushiony enough to support the alpha explosion until the very end. Intense for an American Pale Ale, but I can’t complain when such beautiful flavors are put together. What’s in a name?

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the hazy yellow gold.
-The body is crisp enough to make this an easy drinker and the sustained hop bitterness enhances the refreshment factor.
-The nose is very citrusy, and perhaps a tad milky. Couldn’t quite get my nose around that part of the beer too well...
-There are so few hop bombs in the province of Quebec; and this one is quenching too! APA or IPA? I don’t care. I want another pint.

Bottles, and on tap at V&V.

Lubiere (8243) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 24, 2010
A hazed golden ale with a thin creamy off white head. Nice pungeant floral hops in aroma ove rlight caramel malt. In mouth, a classy hoppy APA with floral hops, white grapefruits, a bit lighter than expected but very good. On tap at V&V, August 15 2010.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2012 Creamy puffy head over a pale gold body. FOGGY LOOK Aromas of light citrus zing countering sweetness. Taste replays aroma with deeper fruit and slight acidity and some peach. Very smooth and warm feel from alcohol. One of the few times I got samples, this would be well worth a 12oz. A 750 BOTTLE PURCHASED WAS INCREDIBLE ALSO. - friday, october 22, 2010 - 341 ml bottle is really tasty, beautiful hops - DEC 2012.

Draught at Vices et Versa. Pours a very slightly hazy yellow-gold, quite bubbly, and with an average size lasting off-white head. Nice hoppy and fruity aroma. Flavour’s nice and hoppy, fruity, refreshing even. Long, dry bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Great stuff.

On draught at Vices et Versa April 23, 2010. Slightly hazy pale gold with a solid white creamy/foamy white head; very thick sticky white lace remnants too. Acidic/leafy bitter aroma with a touch of lemon zest, dry, not sweet or even all that malty - you can definitely detect that 7%. Taste is dry, floral, not as strong alcohol - it’s also maltier than the aroma - I got a nice bit of sweet fresh peach from this - I really liked it, it definitely pushed my buttons. Average body, well-carbonated, lightly acidic/astringent/dry on the tongue with a really long dry bitter (and slightly leafy) finish (4-). I liked it quite a bit indeed - will have this again my next trip to V&V.

On tap at Vices et Versa. Appearance: hazy yellow with tons of visible carbonation & a good thick white head. Aroma: Sour milk, hops, a little malt and bran. Flavour: pretty hoppy up front, lots of carbonation on the tongue with bitter hops and a long sweet-dry finish. Nice.
