COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

341 ml bottle from La Barik (6% ABV). Pours a hazy golden yellow with modest-sized white head. Aroma is citrus (largely orange) and floral. Flavour is also quite hoppy with juicy orange/lemon, floral and piney notes. Moderate bitterness in somewhat dry finish. Solid APA.

In the past i would have rated this beer higher and would go as far as to say that it was the best of it’s style currently brewed in Quebec. I’m not about to crown a new favourite, but am thrown off by the recent drop to 6% abv which seems to have significantly compromised it’s heavy hop taste as well as aroma. I’ll assume the change was in response to a shortage of hops, although I’m not sure. At 6.5% it was a little heavy for an apa and more like an IPA. Anyone know why they changed this beer? Maybe this is a sign that an American IPA is on the way.

Bière blonde de 6.5 % d’alcool. Long col au versement.

Aroma solid clean , crisp strong citrus sided hop feel. Light hint of alcohol. Floral feel. Clean and refreshing.7+
Appearance straw hay golden look with medium white top. Sparse lace.3+
Flavor and Palate : Plenty of leafy, green hop with peppery follow up. Thinner in body. Slight harshness followed. Quiet dry.

341 mL bottle. A rather unappealing hazy brown-yellow. Aroma is nice - C hops. Sweet orange, mostly. The flavour is pretty good as well. Nice bitterness from start to finish. The hops add grapefruit and some resin. Just a touch of caramel. Pretty good.

Really nice juicy citrus aroma. Lots of bright orange, grapefruit, and madarin. Some really decent malts, light, and sweet, they add a great balance. Medium bitter finish. Light piney finish, nice stuff! Great session ale!

Bouteille 341ml.

Bottle: Poured a bright yellow color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of citrus and hoppy notes is quite refreshing and enjoyable. Taste is a nice mix between some floral notes with nice fresh citrus notes and a light hoppy bitter finish. Body is quite full for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very well brewed with nice used of citrus hops.
