En fût, Couleur paille, subtile nez de malt. En bouche, on reconnait clairement la malt d’une lager, on reconnait les épices d’une saison. Finale sèche. Très agréable.

Pleasant malty tasting saison that lacks some character and complexity. I can taste the mixed grains of the malt but not a lot of the other flavours that one usually gets in a saison. A good beer but did not quite meet my expectations. Not nearly as good as the Saison du Tracteur from Le Trou du Diable that I reviewed yesterday.

Bottle - 750ml. Cloudy blond body with lively carbonation and an average white foamy head. Fresh malty/hoppy aroma with citrusy, grainy, and honeyish hints. Its sharp hoppy taste carries malty, coriander, and citrusy notes. Ends with a long, dry bitter/herbal finish. Enjoyable and well done.

Cloudy pale gold pour, massive head. Aroma of banana, clove, lemon, and yeast. Lemon zest, banana, floral, peppery. Fans of the funk are probably better served skipping this one. Lighter body.

Typically Belgian yeast aroma: banana, cinnamon and clove. Blond, slightly hazy, long lasting head, average thickness with a good lacing on glass. Taste is spicy but smooth, with notes of banana, cinnamon and clove. Good mix of spices. Smooth and refreshing.

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2013 Pours a cloudy straw colored with a good white head that leaves heavy lacing. Aroma is herbal, spicy and earthy. An old world interpretation for sure! Taste is dry with a good level of bitterness coming from the hops and herbs (this isn’t your usual bitterness). Mouthfeel is OK, with a higher level of carbonation. Overall a nice one!

750 ml bottle purchased at La Saucisserie BAM (La Saucisserie Ste-Rose) in Laval (Quebec) on May 7, 2013. Blonde straw, average head. Aroma of spicy and dry herbs, with notes of citrus wheat. Taste very dry wheat, sour citrus notes, very bitter herbs. Good summer beer!

Boutip (4642) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 24, 2013
Bottle: Poured hazy dirty beige color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of rustic malt notes with some dry floral aroma notes with light peppery yeast notes. Taste is dominated by refreshing and easy drinking rustic malt notes with dry floral notes and a peppery yeast finish. Body is quite full with limited filtration and good carbonation. Easy drinking with just enough complexity and good attenuation with limited residual sugar notes.

Bouteille 750 ml. 6%. Excellente encore bravo Dunham.
