A golden saison with a very thin white head. In aroma, smooth and sweet fruity malt with light orange peel, rosewater, very smooth and perfumy. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with orange pulp, cloves, fruity esters, oily mouth feel, nice. On tap at vices et versa.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2014 My Bottom Line:
This authentic Saison lays out citrusy fruitiness, delicate banana esters and persistent herbal hop bitterness in a lean, comfy, and very drinkable vehicle.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sizeable head of foam stays atop the misty straw gold.
-The mouthfeel is nicely dry and airy.
-Can’t say I would have detected the rye and oats if they hadn’t been on the label, but the spiciness is obvious once noted.
-The flavor profile is intricate yet rustic.

Bottle.

2012-07-31. Hazy bright orange body with a modest off white head. 3+ Flavour is dry, with a sort of spicy lightly floral character, hints at lemon. Aroma is dry and lightly yeasty, lightly peppery. Dry pale malt character. Average plus palate. Decent but not my favorite. On tap at Volo, Toronto

Bottle, shared with Parksy. Lovely bright yellow body with a very lively head that demanded an incremental pour. Aroma is lightly funky with earthy and lemon peel notes. Crackery pale malts allow the delicate funky and yeasty notes to shine, some lemon peel, some peppery spice in the finish (I just noticed there is rye in here-- makes sense). A delicious quaffable saison.

Bottle bonused by biere_froide- thanks again, Yannick! Pours a clear gold with a small white head. Aroma of bready malts, Band-Aid, banana, straw, citrus, and a super dry, yeasty, grainy quality throughout. The flavor is the same, really dry, with some pear, citrus, and banana fruit, and some bready and sugary sweetness. Light-bodied, with a dry mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Some mild peppery spice throughout, too.

Draught at Volo, August 8. Pours a cloudy golden-orange with a small long-lasting frothy white head. Slightly mild aroma of yeast, fruit, light spices and malt. Very dry flavour is herbal, slightly sweet and yeasty along with citrus fruit and light spices. Average bodied. Pretty good stuff.

Attractive dark cloudy golden Saison covered by a lasting white sheet of irregular yet dense bubbles. Pretty intensely hopped example, loaded with herbal and spicy hops as the label says, but also zesty and lemony and pleasantly so. The spicy hop character is brought to further spicy heights through a convincing peppery, phenolic yeast strain that, while not intensely rustic, does a good attenuation job while avoiding the fruit salad leanings that many seem to favour. The relatively large bubbles could be even bigger and expansive for spot on authenticity, but already contribute to the global dryness and acidic kick. Leafy and bitter finish lingering on almost like that of an IPA. Very drinkable and pleasant.
