Bottle. Thanks Tommy! Pitch black with a good thick foamy brown head, lasting a while. Light roasted notes complimented by bitter chocolate and a nice woody scent. Full bodied, low carbonation, pretty bitter, with lots of chocolate and dark bitter cocoa flavors, finishing pretty smooth. Full bodied. Really nice!

Fairly bitter imperial stout. Strong roasted malt flavour with some notes of bitter coffee and hop bitterness as well. One can faintly taste the maple syrup but only if you are looking for it. There is a small sweet aftertaste. There is also a bit of medicine taste which is a bit too strong for me to rate this higher even though it is an interesting stout.

Pitch black pour, large mocha head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, Blueberry, slightly smoky. big coffee and chocolate up front, blackberry, blueberry, fairly bitter, anise, a bit ashy. Some maple detected as it warmed. Alcohol integrated well. Nice full body. I’m enjoying the revamped Dunham lineup. I’d drink this all winter. Worth finding a quebec Trading partner to send you some of these new Dunham beers.

Johnsense bottle. Big anise aroma. Thick pour and appearance, lacy. A big beer. Coffee, smoke, ash, some chocolate, and hoppy.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a medium size dark dirty brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry coffee notes is dominating with some black chocolate notes also dominating. Taste is a mix between some bitter roasted malt notes with quite a bit of black chocolate notes with some dry and almost astringent coffee notes. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. A lot dryer then I was expecting with quite a bit of dry coffee notes which dominates other flavours. Maple syrup notes I could not find.

Eructoblaster (2518) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - APR 16, 2013
Bottle - 341ml. Perfectly opaque black body with low carbonation and an average brown frothy head. Well balanced, complex malty/hoppy aroma with chocolate, maple, and subtle coffeeish hints. Its robust malty/hoppy taste carries roasted cereals, coffeeish, licorice, and vineous notes. Ends with a long, warming, strong bitter/roasty finish. Wonderful!

Superbe stout.

341ml bottle from Broue Ha Ha, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Deep brown-black with a large, deep mocha head. Aroma: Lots and lots of black coffee, a touch bright, surprisingly pungent hops – leafy and dank, deeply roasted cereals, no maple, interesting if a little shy on complexity. Palate: Medium+ body, relaxed effervescence. Flav.: Even more black coffee, still plenty of leafy, dank hops, roasted, almost burnt grains, quite dark and severe, a little booze comes through, no maple; dry with good bitterness and a fairly long, alcoholic, dark-roasted grain and dank hops finish.

An interesting take in the RIS. No maple ANYWHERE. Stripped down and business-like.

Whatup14 (341) - Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 7, 2013
Bouteille 341ml. Carbonation moyenne, corps dense, huileuse.
