Dunkertons cider use wine yeasts to give consistency and and a more sophistcated taste to their cider than most farmhouse ciders. The dry is fermented right out, bottled unfiltered and unpasteurised, and made from organically grown apples. A blend of cider apples is used, including Sheeps Nose, Brown Snout, and Foxwhelp.

Bottled at RBESG. Hazy golden. Dry and cellary, perfectly still. Sweaty, dusty appleskin flavour. Puckering sour. Interesting, but not really good.

Bottle, train from Edinburgh to Glasgow, RBESG 07. Just woke up when tasting this one, and what a way to wake up! Sharp nose, and initial taste, quite sour. Heavy on the tannins. Rather quenching.

(RBESG 2007, on train from Edinburgh to Glasgow) Sourish aroma, sourish fruity flavor, some citrus.

On train on way back to glasgow. Almost entirly flat but a slight pluckering intreges the palate. Aroma is sweaty dry apples, hints at tartness but generally balanced. Taste is similar dry finish.

Bottle (from Waitrose). At cellar temp main feature is tannic finish. From the fridge shows more balance with fruit and spice on the nose and the tannin taking a more restrained place in the mouth and is quite drinkable and not overly dry.

500ml bottle from Waitrose. Well what a strange day when the best thing that I drink is in fact a cider. What has happened to me? Hazy gold/green colour with disppearing white head. Apple juice aroma with a bit of rubber. Very drinkable. Very dry on end. Apples throughout are good. Bit of herb or apple blossom on aroma and finish. Not much puckering of gums but tongue is left dry as a bone. I liked it.

Straw coloured and hazy. Aromas are sweet, sour and earthy with apples and wood. Flavours are dry with some sweet apple and woodiness. Very dry on the palate. Contains Sheeps Nose and Brown Snout - what a selling point.

This is one of the more harsh ciders that I've tried. Its quite dry and approaching bitter in taste. Whispy debris could be seen in it while it was in the bottle, assume it was apple bits. For my taste I think I'll stick with the sweeter varieties.
