danlo (910) - Darlington, Durham, ENGLAND - MAR 24, 2014
500ml bottle. Yellow-orange golden colour, thin white foam head and aroma of tart apple, barnyard, funky. Sweetish juicy apple flavour with vanilla, woody, almost smokey, earthy & spicy notes and lots of chalky dry tannin. Slightly oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, bittersweet dry acidic finish. Nice complexity, very drinkable cider.

500ml bottle in the park on a sunny Spring day. Immediately starts sucking the cheeks with lots of overripe, bittersweet apples blended together. Such a great cider, definitely one of Dunkertonsí best.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. Clear golden with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet, apples, sulphur and tart. Flavor is quite sweet and light acidic. Dry and light acidic finish. 201013

50cl bottle thanks to Grace. Pours golden with gentle bubbles. The nose and taste have an apple sauce thing going on but what is nice is the way it is intense without being too sweet or too sharp. The palate is great - big body and texture and a long dry finish. A great example of an English country cider.

sulawang (545) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 11, 2013
Visual: pours clear light orange amber with virtually no head and no retention. Some slow streams. Nose: Honeyed apple, light yeast and woody pressed apples. Attack: tangy and tart Mid-palate: very woody red apples, green apple, distinct VANILLA, 6/10-sweetness Finish: mild barnyard sourness, tart crisp finish Good complexity and transitions on this one; I especially like the vanilla flavour.

Bottle, a bit hazy deep yellow colour, aroma of leather and wood with some very ripe apples, flavour of leather and apples with a touch of spiciness, quite strong bitterness with a light but pronounced sweetness, soft carbonation. Lovely stuff.

Palme (3013) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 16, 2013
0.5l bottle. This is a light cloudy orange gold one with a small quickly gone bubbly white top. On the nose I get, yeah apples. The floury green kind. Also some canned pears in here and traces of some dusty cellar. Itís not particularly good this. Itís a yeasty monster! As astringent in the mouth as Iíve never has in anything before and it tastes just horrible old and bad! Like chewing on old rotten grape seeds gone through a guinea pig. This has to be a bad, no make that horrible evil bottle or something. I cannot drink this. Not a chance. 14.04.2013

Bottled. Slightly hazy golden. Mellow aroma of candyish ripe green apples. Fairly sweet with spritzy mouthfeel. Some viola and black currant. Some aluminium and apple skin bitterness in the finish.

tfredvik (947) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 2, 2012
Light yellow body that with a faint haze. Moderate and mild sweet fruity aroma with lightly fermented apples and a touch of oak. Quite much sweetness initially but the finish is nevertheless moderate dry with a tart twist. Gentle apple flavours. Soft carbonation. A nice cider, but maybe a bit too mellow and undemanding?
[50 cl bottle shared with the missus, from Vinmonopolet Storo, Oslo]

pintbypint (2388) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 28, 2012
500ml brown bottle. Deep gold, hazy, no head. Sweet apple nose, some yeast and leathery spice notes. Taste has big fleshy apple fruit up front, sweetish dark sugars. Ends yeasty, spicy, tannic with apple tart skins, woody. Light apple fruit aftertaste, light but acceptable alcohol presence. Medium bodied, very refined tingly carbonation. Nice complexity, but very still quite approachable. Best cider Iíve had in a long time.
