| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 6, 2009 Draft at Redlight Redlight. Pours a very cloudy, glowing orange-amber color. A small, fading white head leaves a sudsy wash on the glass, most of which returns to the body. The aroma reminds me of a woman’s perfume, very floral and estery overall, with distinguishing notes of candied orange peel, lemon zest, clove, cracked pepper, and a heap of dry, bready, bretty yeast. Flavors are bright and zesty up front, citrus again featured prominently. Pale malts and candy sugar add ample sweetness, while spicy, peppery, floral hop notes and dry, farmhouse yeast add complimentary depth. Medium-full in body, with a fine, active carbonation, the palate finishes dry to the point of being parching, with lingering floral bitterness. Overall, this is a very fine saison, but it goes a bit over the top for me. Though I like this brew very much, I prefer the normal Saison Dupont for both everyday palatability and subtle complexity. malrubius (977), Valley Stream, New York, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 4, 2009 750 ml bottle in Duvel glass. Pale hazy orange with lasting white head and lace. Spicy lemon pastry aroma. Very fresh. Bready honey melon with strong spicy bittereness. Medium body (light for the abv) with effervescent carbo and nice mouthfeel. Very assertive, complex, refreshing, drinkable and strong. One the of the best beers, period. Big thanks to Stu at Shoreline Bev for the special order. ChainGangGuy (2549), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 4, 2009 Appearance: Hazy, copper-hued body with an inch of off-white foam.
Smell: Aroma smelling of bright citrus, tangy wheat, spices, apple peelings, and a sweaty, floral hop character. I must say, the funkiness coursing through the nose is fairly restrained.
Taste: Union of citrus, orange peel, and grassy florals. Tart and reasonably bitter even at the start. Some malted wheat, apple, and even flecks of sweet toffee begin to emerge midway. Hint of alcohol, a thoughtful reminder of the 9.5% contained within. Sip of still mineral water. Never more than a mild funk component. Some honey and sour lemon arrives late. Light touches of funk and sourness on the dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Slight stickiness.
Drinkability: Displays tons of distinct flavors and subtle complexities, but for a winter seasonal, I find myself looking elsewhere and for a saison, well, I honestly prefer the standard Saison Dupont. But I certainly appreciate the "best wishes" from Brasserie Dupont (right back at’cha!). HarvestrOfBeer (12), , Washington, USA

Pours hazy blonde with a thick foamy white head. Nose is like a dusty attic, chalk, cheese. Aroma of citrus and herbs. Flavorbalance good between sweet and sour. Very silky mouthfeel and alcoholcontent only noticeable as it warms.
Good beer. AgentSteve (1357), SF Bay Area, California, USA
