BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA Mar 11, 2008 [sampled at Hopleaf, Chicago] Cloudy, golden yellow color. Fruity aroma, citric, almost kind of earthy. Flavors are strongly bitter, with loads of esters. Spicy and phenolic; very complex. Finishes with a wonderful dryness. Strong carbonation. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA Mar 11, 2008 3-2-08 bottle (2 years aged) shared at tasting
Not a preferred style of mine. Cloudy orange color with a light white head. Smell is funky and citris and strange. Flavor is average and bland and a bit sour. Overall, just okay. For the style, probably amazing - but I didn’t dig it. larsniclas (3383), Gothenburg, Sweden Mar 7, 2008 Draught at Kulminator, Antwerp.
Hazy golden with a white head.
Grassy and yeasty aroma with tropical fruits.
Soft and slightly metallic.
Grassy bitterness with warming alco-feel. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Mar 4, 2008 Pours dark yellow with very excited white head. This beer has a piny, citrusy, peppery aroma. This beer tastes of pepper, spices, citrus, and yeast. Finishes dry with some hops and pepper. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Mar 4, 2008 Updated: Mar 25, 2008Pours light orange to yellow with whitish head. Smell is minty, and lemony fresh, perhaps herbal as well. Taste is sharp, somewhat tart and a touch spiced as well. Some butteriness to the flavor at the same time and a honey sweetness to it. Faintly hopped as well, but sweetness prevails still a bit from this. ekstedt (2411), Göteborg, Sweden Mar 4, 2008 Draught at Kulminator, Antwerp, Belgium. Hazy dark golden with a creamy rich white head. Fruity aroma with apricots and peaches, along with floral and herbal notes, and some leather notes. Medium bodied and very smooth. Very well balanced. Pours gold and yellow with a bright white ring. Nose is sweet and nutty. Taste is sweet yeasty and damn nice. jehoey (766), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 26, 2008 sampled at the Kulminator on tap: Floral and earthy aroma reminiscent of brett spring forth from this beautifully cloudy beer. It poured with 2 fingers of head which laced beautifully down the side of the glass. Flavor is of a summer afternoon. Earthy hops, floral notes, cereal malt, all balance out with harmony. Mouth feel is light and bubbly, really complements the flavors and the feelings of a summer day.
